Ok. Well, I've been fidling around with the .50 cal sniper rifles to have near zero deviation, can fire in any stance, have a ROF of 5000, have 9 mags with 999 bullets, and have the sound on a GAU-8 going off.

Now I'm going to have to try and change the projectile to a 30 mm bringer of doom :twisted:

Ok, so after some more editing and applying GAU-8 sounds/projectile code, I'm now stuck because something isn't right in my code.

For the most part I cut and pasted where appropriate from the A-10 vehicle autocannon code.

Can any one try to find what's wrong, because pr CTDs when I pick up the kit.

so I thought it would work, because I added in the ObjectTemplate.create GenericProjectile usair_a10a_AutoCannon_Projectile and its following code. I was originally thinking that I had some code talking about wingspan and such or something, which wouldn't work on a sniper :O

Oh well, more fiddling around to do. Maybe I should just change the usair_a10a_AutoCannon_Projectile to .50 cal, but keep the rest of the autocannon_projectile codding in.

Hmmmm, now I'm even more confused... I've taken out the entire A-10 auto cannon projectile coding, and I've changed the projectile bakc to 50cal, and yet the M82a1 still makes me crash. Though the M95 barret is extremely similar in coding, and works almost as I want it to. I'll give any one who can find my CTDing code an ecookie.

The item index for the M82 is 0. That's probably what's crashing BF2.

When you go about copying and pasting information like this, it's best to stick with things like detonation comps - not entire sections of code. The item index became 0 because vehicle weapons usually don't have item indexes at all.

And Voila, my m82a1 is now a complete GAU-8, pretty much. Thanks to the PRSP Dev team and testers who gave me the tools, and gclark03 and [R-CON] Alex for the help. I hope I can put these skills to more use at some point.

Nice work!

You've already mastered it. Like I said, it's really easy and really fun. Keep posting videos of your weapon hacks! I need to start creating some myself.

My newest projects:
1) .50 caliber, full-auto, recoil-free, infinite-ammo P226. The ultimate CQB weapon.
2) Air-burst grenade 'bullets'. This will be a tough one...
3) A deployable parachute kit, just to spite Bob_Marley for closing that thread of mine.

I did make a grenade launcher out of the DAO-12 (i think it's called that the unlockable shotgun). That was very fun. Great weapon for US Spec-Ops.

Air burst isn't hard.

ObjectTemplate.detonation.detonateDistanceToTarget [meters]
ObjectTemplate.detonation.triggerRadius [meters]
ObjectTemplate.detonation.triggerAngle [angle]

I'm not sure what the difference between triggerRadius and detonateDistanceToTarget is as they both appear to have the same function. You can use one or the other. TriggerAngle is if you only want the air bursting to occur in a particular angle of the radius instead of 360 degrees.

What I've done is I've copied and pasted the code for the Hydra rocket, then I've given them each different names and Fire rates. I then gave them their own itemindex (1, 2, and 3). I'll try and run it in windowed mode to get the error, but it crashes on 15%.

I haven't maglinked them yet, either, though.

You can only mag link two weapons.

When you rename a weapon you need to rename all of it's child objects. The barrel's names, the sound's names--everything. Everything that has the old name in it needs to be changed to the new name.

You can also find the reason for crashing in the dmp folder which is in your My Documents/Battlefield2 folder. There will be a lot of gibberish in the file but in that gibberish you'll find some stuff you can read and it will tell you why it crashed.

lol long time ago but i dug up the original version of street and got it working in the current version all insurgent kits RPGs all gb kits RPGs with the rpgs explosion force at 250, bodys flying in the air everywhere its madness.
