Actually, I suggested the same thing a few months back. I can't find the topic but like I said, we came to the conclusion it wouldn't be vesable to have an AI controlled UAV. Now that EA put that exact thing in, I see no reason for it to not be do-able.

Skip to 3:50, and you will see the goggles i was talking about, where by the Operator can see live feed from the UAV' camera. Its only a few second's, but you get the idea.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. So no dogs possible. Shame, IMO, as it happens live...

I'm not a fan of a mini UAV, tbh, unless its info is limited to the squad from which it was "launched".
