I`m gonna make just one pod?wingmounted weapon, after that unwrap uv`s ,mirror to the over side of heli and paint texture (base),after that gonna copy base texture and move to some over place in whole texture and move uv`s with that ,adjust texture so i don`t have two similar textured gunpods.
Finaly have exported video ,speeded up making of the rotor, right now i`m uploading. If it`s uploaded gonna post link on,video is about 868mb so it`s all on you to download it or not.Anyway in video you`ll see creation from nothing of main rotor(part of it) as i said.
Just as on the screens below

I take it this isn't created for PR?
Because that rotor hub alone got more tris than Sierpinski's triangle by the looks of it.
Anyways, Ace model, keep it up.

There is a nice mod for arma with the mi 24 in it. It has a very realistic pasenger cabin

I meant are they going to be part of the helicopter mesh or dummies (like the bombs on aircraft)? If they are part of the helicopter mesh then you can't change them at will later on. The cool thing about having them as dummies is that you can attach any combination of weapons on the pylons just by messing with the .tweak file. Of course this would mean that you'd have to model the weapons independently of the helicopter. It allows a great amount of flexibility to your helicopter.

Hah well it will be part of heli, but as dummy,i mean it will be attached to the mesh ,but i can separate it any time i want

In maya is possible.

Great work as usual Oleg
Quick question. What technique do you go by when doing these high polys? NURMS modeling or subdivision modeling?
At the moment I'm making my F/A-18E using subdivision modeling. So was curious on what you used

Well, i don`t like to work with nurbs or subdivisions (at this moment i don`t know this way of modeling so good as polymodeling, and by polymodeling i have alot of control

), all my models i do by polymodeling , i try to create low poly model as possable, that if i do smooth it will looks exactly as i want it to looks like, after that just , make smooth-ready by ading some edges on corners and it`s done

Even chuck Norris wouldn't be able to make such a grate model as that! Now the only thing is to get a new engine for PR so that this masterpiece can work

oh and btw... my heart missed a beat when i saw this

Very good looking but I reckon it'd be good practice to see how easily a low poly cut down model version could be made and of course pr could use that model
Polish forces use these in iraq I think I read for medivac?
