Don't have your volume up that loud. You'll permanently damage your hearing and hearing damage is irreversible!
AnRK wrote:The tip about turning the in game volume down to 60-70& and keeping VoIP at 100% is good advice if you wanna hear it more clearly, the VoIP level is ridiculously low. Hope Jaymz had changed the levels a bit for .85, if it's possible obviously, that'd be sweet.
Changing every single volume level in PR is not going to happen. But like you said, lowering effects volume to about 60/70 is a must. There's been numerous changes to give PR better dynamic range for 0.85 (walk/sprint sound lowered, 3p firing sounds raised etcetc)

Lol, as loud as in real life? What kind of speakers do you have? Something from a rock consert? I don't believe it untill I see it. :P

Gotta love that dynamic range :p sounds good to me. .8 was such an improvement, especially with the different levels of ambience other then pretty much in front of you/f***king miles away differentiation you had in vanilla, so can only imagine there's gonna be alot more cool stuff like that.

Bit of a shame there's no way of boosting the VoIP level, if I had your job I wouldn't wanna do it the other way and turn EVERYTHING else down instead like you said though. I don't know what BF2s engine is like for sound, but I imagine it's not a straightforward thing to do with any game...

Yeah i don't think alot of people know how loud a gunshot is

And im not talking about 22.'s here.

Like i remember when i first heard a K98 going off you know the 7.92x57mm rounds going off near your head. Very, Very loud.

To replicate that in game well first your gonna need to hook up your speaker system to a Quad Marshall stack, Turn it up to 11. Then add a machine which will produce a decent enough shock wave to replicate what it FEELS like when someone fires a bullet near you.

Then your on the right track

Let me just say there is a reason alot of operators use hearing protection kids.

Devs, make it so you can change the sound options in-game. I don't want to constantly tweak my VoIP by re-disconnecting every time I want to change it.

Astromici, I think it's hardcoded, so it can't be changed. But it would be cool, though. I can barely hear my squadmates when being an mg-gunner in a tank... :)

question to the devs
will it be able to adjust sound levels ingame?
in original BF2 it's possible, you only not allowed to change quality, but in PR ingame you can switch nothing in audio settings, you have to disconnect
