Give us one good reason why PR, a game with 16 square kilometre maps, helicopters, tanks, et al. would be significantly improved.
There is a reason why the devs are working on a mod for BF2 and not Half-life 2.

But the squad system is just damn good in bf2.

I think BF2 engine is awesome, almost anything can be done with it. But it needs alot of "thinking outside the box"-style of thinking to figure out how to make some of the stuff.
But as a mapper i would love to move to dx10 graphics ^^

Put it this way, If Pr would switch to source i would roll over and die before playing

I hate source engine. How ever if PR switched now they would lose a lot of their player base do to it and all so they wont, plus they worked to hard for making PR for Bf2 engine. So they'd basically be starting over.

Why change a system that works?
BF2 engine isnt great if you only look at only one thing, but there isnt alot of Engines that can give you 64 players, Coded vehicles and a squad/commander system. Seriously sometimes I believe people post new threads just to post new threads.

See all the videos you will not have maps much larger than the PR. Maps that have seen fit 101 players

i bet that even 128 players would fit for kashan, it would need just more vehicles

Fail sig CB
I don't really get this post, the DEVs have put way to much hard work into PR for BF2 to suddenly switch to the Source Engine.

Sorry VRV but this thread is pointless.
This is discussion forum so feel free to discuss but PR Devs will not change the game engine to Source. Reason? The large part of PR content comes from BF2 and you can't just take it and put it in to Source (for many reasons). Even if Devs would decide to change the engine to Source (which is very unlikely), they could only put in it things that was made by them. All the rest that belongs to BF2 must stay and can't be used in other engines or games without the permission from DICE (or EA) or for technical reasons.

im sure that i and some other PR players don't have any source games either
and some people here don't have really good computers to play source games including me, if they were too switch they would loose a lot of their players. the graphics might be nice and mybe you can do more with the source engine but it would cause fail in other things.

I wish people would stop complaining about how much the BF2 engine sucks. It's actually not that bad, and has alot of things that other game engines won't give you.

Can the Source engine handle AT LEAST 64 players? So far, I haven't seen any Source game with 64 players.

These "why don't you use xxxx engine it's better than BF2" threads are bloody annoying.
It's tantamount to saying "Hey Devs! I know you've all spent countless months, or years, sweating blood and working your collective asses off to bring us a fantastic mod. But I'd rather you did it on the Wii engine - so can you throw it all away and redo absolutely everything please? Oh, and ignore the cost - the pixies will pick that up."
They've done a fantastic job with BF2's engine, and got more about of it than even they probably expected, and I'm sure the vast majority of the community are grateful for their efforts.
