Gonna guess and say it is fired by a passenger since if it were the driver the thing would be running. It could be the gunner, if he has 297320 weapon keys

Yeah that's right, plus it flies at a much slower velocity compared to other tank rounds.

you can kill a tank with HE rounds though

Nope not being sarcastic in the slightest. Its a simple fact that the BTR is not used by any RL army as it is too expensive.

Therefore as this is Project Reality and its not used in reality it shouldnt be used here.

Ok gazz, i'll take your word for it. Still dont believe that though I have absolutely no doubt that it'll be gone by 0.9, hopefully along with Jabal al-stalemate and suncrap city...

They're HE-F (High Explosive-Fragmentation) rounds, not HEAT (High Explosive Anti Tank), they don't focus the blast like a HEAT round and so dont penetrate armour. They may be able to kill a tank in PR, hut I very much doubt it would be an effective strategy (probably relying on firing 10 rounds or more into the rear armour of said tank).

Thats why it has barrel launched ATGMs.

As for the BTR-90, there are no known current plans for the Russian Army to adopt it. Some sources say it is in very limited service with Russian forces source, probably the MVD or FSB. There is no large scale production or plans for it.
