i got no lag with my uber1337machine / upgrade ur system for 1000$ only
dont help anyone here
i had that experience when i first installed .85...BAD LAG...now the lag is gone, i mean the long 10 seconds lasting lag every minute(on fallujah, karbala and kozelsk)....dont ask me what i did, cause i did almost everything imaginable...everything from pbupdate, drivers, resolutions, textures, reinstallations whatever
my machine is an old lamea*s agp system (c2d e7200/2gb 667 ram/x850xtpe) but i have the advantage of 5 harddisks all with different software configurations....different os and different drivers, but the hardware is still the same so it cannot be a hardware problem...as u can see, people have uber1337 systems and still LAG....so i tried around with different configurations and finally it all works fine on a clean xp with drivers only, essential tools and the game itself installed
- so i suggest u get urself a cheap second hand HDD and set up a fresh system for this game only....kinda radical huh? but it will work!
it was the same with al basrah when it was new, then with korengal and now with fallujah...people cry!
what we need is a uber1337haxxor DEBUG team cleaning the code...please DONATE all ur savings to the team so they can get some debuggers to work on the maps
-great job on korengal CRF/rhino

Well, I've never had any problem with Al Basrah or Korengal. I just get a major fps hit on Fallujah when looking towards certain spots. I've noticed in D3K8 looking east/NE it's pretty bad.

Make sure you are not using a USB drive for Readyboost with Vista when playing PR or you will get map lag.

Sounds like poor driver settings. If you're using an nvidia card, you can try changing the sampling method between super-sampling (slow but pretty), multi-sampling (faster, but some games glitch transparencies) and "off". Also checking the alpha-blending settings too.
If that fails, check the gamma correct AA, and try using AA / Ansio optimisation.

Hi... Well after trie every thing, I could not fix this problem of dropping fps...
In fallujah i have 40 to 180 fps... I change all video configs of PR... High to Low... AA 2x 4x 8x...
I am using vista 64 now but i trie windows xp 32 and still dropping fps... I also trie diferents drivers and nothing happens...
This is my computer:
Quad Core Q6600
Asus P5E SLI
Ati HD 4850
4 Gb Ram
Audigy Le 5.1
LCD 22''
This is my results in 3dmark2006 with diferent OS and Drivers:
11033 catalyst 8.12 vista 64
11609 catalyst 9.1 vista 64
11553 catalyst 9.2 vista 64
11840 catalyst 8.5 xp 32
11833 catalyst 8.12 xp 32
11864 x-catalyst 8.12 xp 32(exatamente igual)
11864 catalyst 9.2 xp 32
Other important things:
I change my PR shortcut for +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050, i dont use affinity because my fps drop to half, My vista is config for maximum performance and uac is disable, and my bf2.exe is changed to for BF2MemoryPatch.
Someone could help ???
If the DEVs need someone to test fixes please contact... And sorry about my poor english... to many years without pratice...

Two APC's were diving around the city and when they were just driving - no lags at all, but soon as they opened fire huge server lags started to happen. Cease of their fire stopped lags immediately, and so on.
Don't know if this is already known but it might be helpful to someone maybe.
There is an APC lag bug. I was leading an APC/trans squad after 30 min MASSIVE lags started. For me and my driver. When he got out, lags we're gone. When the other squadmember was my driver there were no lags. Something IS fishy!
