It could also be used for a map based in Germany
Although you'd need plenty more west European buildings

I need a russian church, but they dont look like your church. If you're bored and want to make me one, let me knowGhostDance101 wrote:Hey Thanks for the tips,
I'm using 2 new 512-512 detail textures. I could send you the files if you want? One for the stone bricks and one for marble windows and pilers and other bits. also an altered version of a pr roof tiles texture.
It's exported it as one object. I was planing on making some more objects for the inside. Like pews an alter maybe candles...
The window have full alpha transparency and have a very convincing stained glass effect, but are not currently destuctable.
If I light map in 3dmax I'm sure could do some very fancy stuff with point lighting...
Your right that it looks western European.
Maybe it could be used for a Polish vs Russian map? based in Poland?

That's a sweet looking church though. I agree though that you should export the windows separately, so that they can be destroyable like the ones in Muttrah on the Hotel/Mosque/thing.
Also, if you make pews/benches and stuff, have them exported individually so that mappers can say have a few flipped over or something like that if they wanted. Looking good.

no its far more efficient if they are exported altogether and flipped in max.McLuv wrote:Also, if you make pews/benches and stuff, have them exported individually so that mappers can say have a few flipped over or something like that if they wanted. Looking good.

that looks great!
if you are making an interior, you could either have a clean layout, or have all the ques and furniture bundled up against the sides of the building to form a ring.

I was after something more along these lines ( though smaller, less detailed and unenterable )[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:there is no point, didn't I show you the Russian church we have?

I need to speak to nostafaru or someone Russian, to see which is more representative of a Russian church - but in my mind it looks more like the one above. ( Mainly the white walls, and golden dome thing )

Ahh that's really beautiful man, beautiful golden onions, I love Orthodox churches but even better to have it enter-able and have some heavy Orthodox stuff inside, like this:spacemanc wrote:I was after something more along these lines ( though smaller, less detailed and unenterable )

Yeah they're pretty distinctive. Enterable ones would be great, but that would mean a whole loads of extra workTerror_Terror_Terror wrote:Ahh that's really beautiful man, beautiful golden onions, I love Orthodox churches but even better to have it enter-able and have some heavy Orthodox stuff inside, like this:

. It would be a good static to make, as Im sure it would have a place on all the Russian/Eastern Europe maps, in the same way that the temple static is on all the Chinese maps.

Nice looking church I'll give it a go when I have some time.
Do you need it urgently or would it be ok to do it in a few weeks or so?

Its not mega urgent - it would be cool if i could have one in a month or so. Beggars cant be choosers and all thatGhostDance101 wrote: Nice looking church I'll give it a go when I have some time.

I like this one the best - just the structure on the right - not the smaller one on the left.

The slightly rounded walls would be good for a bit of CQB. It doesnt have to be a copy - as you can see they all share certain design features:

( Ill stop hijacking your thread now - let me know in a PM - Im more than happy to help you guys out in return if you like

Since the Russians are mostly Christian Orthodox, you should use this cross instead of the 'casual' one:
