Due to past experiences on muttrah, in a heli its usually quick check of minimap and shoot whatever moves, or be shot.
And of course sorry when there are TKs, but you get 30 seconds and your back, if I hesitate its most likely 20 minutes for me...
Actually there was a situation, landed havok on helipad and the 50 cal in the trans heli started shooting us for some reason. Unfortunately, there is no time to type !b whoever, so I just full throttled and spammed hydras, landed again, and banned the guy. Felt sorry for the heli pilot, but he was back up in 5 mins anyway, and we still had our havok.

No hesitation at all, except when a friendly squad is flanking the enemy in my sights.

Never do I, he if is aiming at me and looks anything like them he is gone. The chances are to high for him to want kill me. If he will hurt me or my squad they are dead, its a group of 6 guys that you need to do you objective, and in my mind, if that requires me doing something stupid ill do it. For example; on Fallujah, squad was pinned in a house and a car was driving down the road towards us as they were all next to each other ready to run across and I pull a round into his window and kill him making it safe as i was in the middle of the road.

Nice experience
For me, it useually depends on priority. If I'm infantry, anything over 100 meters that doesn't start shooting at me, I'll hesitate to correctly ID (undercover that is). Under that, I'll have to hope that my IDing skills are up to par with the requirement. Unless I'm in say a vehicle looking at something that can't shoot me, then I'll spend the proper time to ID.
What I'd like to see Copilots do, is they actually lase before they light something up, because then the pilot gets a visual and can confirm/abort the run. Especially on Karbala, where the only targets you should have any hard time IDing would be infantry, which can't shoot you most of the time.

If i see a unconfirmed target running i try to confirm who it is with my binos if they cant see me.
If they can see me i fire a warning shot and see how they respond.
If im using HAT i really make sure i HAVE the shot. Worst thing is firing at a fully loaded APC and the rocket going over the top and you see the APC just stop...

You guys should really understand that CONFIRMING a target and HESITATION are different things.

i will usually try and position my squad such that we have arcs of fire that are clear of friendlies. furthermore i will try and have a look at the map frequently so as to notify my squadmembers of any friendlies around so that they don't have to "hesitate"/confirm target

I never hesitate...except when I know they haven't seen me and I want to move to a better position to attack.

It'd be nice to have squads that ask for Cobra support fire to not be right next to the people they want me to shoot at. It's not unusual for people on Muttrah to be on top of a building near East City and ask me to shoot at another group of enemies on a nearby roof top. It's hard to tell the difference between the two when you're flying by at 400km. If they don't want to go down stairs they could mark themselves with green smoke or something.

My hesitation with stuff like a LAT or HAT is: If I shoot now I might hit him. Hes steady but Its a long range! If I wait he can come closer, he might fuck me up but I might hit him square on! etc. etc.
same as yesterday. Insurgent on that new map: I sit in a building hiding, a sl walks by, a medic walks by when do you start firing. An AR walks in to me so I had to start firing. It is because I hesitated I was able to took out 4 guys of that squad. Including the medic. If I had the shoot to kill mentality I would have failed a lot!

That's just playing smart. Hesitation is from doubt not from waiting for better shot or things of that nature.

Trying to confirm if your contact is enemy or friendly can hardly be called hesitating imo.
If they are to far away to reccognize them, there is no need to start shooting them up.

Takes about 2 seconds to check minimap. By the time you zoom in, either with scope or binocs, you should know if the target is enemy or not. No reason to hesitate.
All of the above, you should do before you engage anyways. ^That is not hesitation. Instead it is called SOP, standard operating procedure.
Hesitation WILL get you killed. Following SOP will not, and will also reduce teamkills.
SOP can get you killed also.. Don't forget that alot of SOP and rules in the military are "politically correct".
