Here is some photos of my 416 with snow camo. The black spots are areas which is not allowed to paint. As You can see, those are areas with pictures, serial numbers and type information.

Cool rifle, though. Thought painting the rifles was a bit of a no-no (at least on the AG3F2s)?

Painting the Ag3 is a big no-go. But in the Technical Handbook (TH-somenumbers-opsec ) for the 416 it is written how it it supposed to be done. However, it is required to have a weaponsmith present to make sure everything is done properly.


Also, Hägglunds was here this week showing of their new cv90 chassis with 35mm Dutch cannon. AWESOME! The government is supposedly signing a contract with Hägglunds in May. Deliveries in approx. 3 years. Looks like I have to write a new contract myself...

Sorry for the off-topic here, but why's painting your AG3 a no-go? Wouldn't think there's much of a difference between painting a 416 and painting an AG3?

Judging by how much I'm liking the Army at the moment (less then 2 months in, mind), it looks like I might have to go for TMBN or something like that myself...

Not sure, but I guess it is because of "låserullene", the roller system. In some rare events the roller system can damage the upper reciver (glidekassen) right above the fire selector. (I guess you are familiar with the term "MBK"?) And then, if you have painted your rifle, the paint might cover it up. That is not a problem with the gas operated rotating bolt system in the 416. But I'm not sure. There are some officers with bigger pay-checks than me who have decided this.

You are welcome next summer then! The problem with GSV is that they tend to empty their mags and fall back, unlike us, who are more likely to charge instead. Therefor they struggle a bit in the beginning, adjusting to the mechanized infantry way of thinking. But that shouldn't keep you away from joining us, we have some good soldiers from GSV in our company.

Very familiar with MBK, yeah. Never heard of the locking rollers damaging the the upper receiver, though. Caused by the rollers jamming in the locking position? If so, that should be solved by proper cleaning and lubrication. I'll ask one of our sergeants if he's ever heard of it. From what I've seen, the AG3 is the most soldier-proof rifle there is.

Yeah, the idea is that we're a "jeger" (that'd be something like light infantry or Rangers for you foreign lot) company, so we're to "see without being seen" instead of charging in, guns blazing, like the mechanized people do. We have less ammo and no fire support from MGs or vehicles.
Though I hear that GSV is a fairly large force contributor to TMBN. Something to do with all "jeger" soldiers being pretty good at the basic field stuff, which TMBN can build on?
I'm certainly considering it. Will spend my 12 months deciding, then we'll see. Have thought about Fjernoppklaring as well, though that seems a bit to tough for me (listening to our sergeants - half of them have tried, and failed, selection for Fjernoppklaring, and they're pretty hard guys).

To the last part; yes. As long as it contains those black spots on the sides and rails.

Yes, this is for Norwegians, by the way, i was travelling arround my state and in the beggining of the next month, i'll be getting ready to join in my country's army, so i'll not have much time to do some stuff, as well i'm in other faction under development by some members of the PR dev and pub team. But i'll make the whole gun with variations and stuff fast as i can.
