I also talk only english in PR.
I dont know but I got so used to it that it is really weird for me to speak german in PR.
All those expressions... no it sounds much better in english
I never join ger voips squads anyway.
No good exp. with those
I find those language squads OK though, if it is a german server why should they adapt to a minority?
I know it is stupid for those who end up without squad, which happens a lot, but then just open an own squad.
More squadleaders ftw anyway.
edit:
And I think the majority of german PR players is able to speak and write english.
But they are too lazy to do it and also often like you say yourself there is a full german squad - so why should they talk or write english to each other?

Make sure you all signed the "I know English" legal paragraph in the PR install file.
Right....right?

True, lol, Swedish servers randomly write anything in Swedish. There's some exceptions where they'd write in both Swedish and English. But some German and French (more than most others from what I've experienced) just seem too stubborn to write in English. Why?
Well english isn't their first language and they are on German servers...what don't you get? Here is an example, if you new spanish, and had an english server would you write everything in spanish? No because you speak english and everyone on the server speaks english it's the same for any other language server.

Yes, if you would'nt, I would come up with the same thing. PL INF, RUS, GER, FR, SWE, CZ are the most famous languages . Especially french who come in EN squad and start talking french like anybody can understand them...jeez. Thats why I don't play on EU servers, because it's lotto to find an actual english player squad. There is 99% chance of english language on US servers.

I'm always astonished by how much even gymnasiasts(college goers, me thinks) suck at speaking English. The German English curriculum seems to be geared to reading and writing about stupid colonies of England(includes USA^^). Thats gonna get you rly fing far when it comes to talking to your future employer.
I personally always try to watch and read stuff in English, but it seems I'm flying solo on that mission. My friends, although capable enough of the English language, prefer German in everything they do.
But i also doubt that most Germans over 30 know enough English to watch, say, Dr. House and actually enjoy it.
In PR, i prefer german sqs because i can seriously screw up the english language when i get under pressure.

In meinem gymnasium habe ich Deutsch gelernt, aber jetzt have ich es vergessen!

or something like that anyway.

All i have to say is:
Mein linka blinka ist kaput.
That's all I know in German, so if I ever go into a German squad, and you guys are all speaking, then that is all I will say until I'm kicked or leave
I'm joking, but tbh, I as a native English speaker, appreciate all the effort non-native English speakers make to speak English If anything, never be ashamed of asking if xxx is right or whatever, trust me, you can speak my language a hell of a lot better than I can speak yours, so props to you

Also, don't let us forget Jinx's law:
The more someone makes fun of others' poor English, the more likely they are to finish a sentence with a preposition.

If you really need an English speaking squad, why not go to an English server? I see about 3 or 4 US-based servers in the list nowadays, and they usually have an open squad.

I have never had any problems with language on PR servers and in fact have found the opposite. I have joined squads many times made up entirely of German or French players and when they hear I am an English speaker only they alway switch to English just for me. I am sometimes embarrassed by the fact that most people in other parts of Europe speak English very well and very few English people can say little in other languages. Lets face it the only thing most Brits can say is: "two beers please" in Spanish.
Thanks (Danke/Merci)

And i like to joke and mess around which I can't do when speaking foreign language

Err...
Speaking French, English and Spanish fluently (and english isn't my native language) I believe this thread is full of fail, thank you.
Not everyone in the world speaks english. PR goes world-wide as much as internet does, and you will have to accept not everyone will use english on demand. Nations of EU understood that fact at least.
Heck, what you're saying is plain wrong ; most of the times I played on french servers, FR Voip squads would instantly turn into english squads just because ONE player started speaking english. I tried the experience not being native english and it's very special and kind of them I think. So show respect, because you know you wouldn't do the same for them anyway.
Then I see this... Sorry, but it's very disapointing to see y'all complaining about such a thing like it's a requirement to be a civilized english-speaker to play internet games. If you dont want to speak german, dont join german squads or servers, period. I don't join Click 21 (Brazil) because I don't speak portuguese/brazilian, and I wont join it and ask people to speak english or french, or spanish just because of my lil' cute e-eyes. It's their right. I wont join Texas Teamplayers or TG and start speaking french knowing most speak english, because it'd be wrong and annoying. Then why would you join a german server and whine they don't know almighty English? Why not japanese then? Or even Arab!
I have never seen a french/spanish speaking player burst into an english squad and speak french. If that has ever happened, shame on that guy, but by doing this with english and other-language servers, you just give him much more credit.

Its not a crime that they have a Squad with people who speak their language. And theres not really much that can be done anyway...

Pretty much every time i´ve been in a german squad and a english speaking guy joined, we all started speaking english.
Although I prefer to play in english speaking squads.
Dont know why, maybe because it adds a lot to the atmosphere.
But as already said: My english isnt the best, if im under pressure.

They just should be ABLE to speak it. If some gerries (for example) hop in a squad together and scream at each other in german, what do i care? Really, only if the squad leader is able to speak english and can communicate with fellow squad leaders/commander then I truly do not mind.

NyteMyre wrote:In Project Reality, there's some things very vital for a good round. 1. That you are in a squad and 2. Communication. Communication both inside and outside the squad. And there's something that annoys me the most that's most likely only in EU servers: LANGUAGE SQUADS.
I know EU is a multi-language nation and that not everyone has English as their native language, but is it really so hard to adapt?
Most of the time when I join a server I see something like the following squad setup:
ENG VOIP 6/6 Random sqd 6/6 Sniper sqd 2/6 (locked) GER VOIP 5/6 GER INF 4/6
And the moment you enter a German squad, the first thing they ask is: "Bist du Deutsch?". If you say you aren't German they kick you out of the squad. But that means that you're SQUAD has 1 member less and that your TEAM has 1 unassigned players (which are also a pain in the butt).
My request to all German players..I don't have a problem with language squads as long you can fill it with 6 German speakers...but if that's not the case, just let non-germans join and start talking English!
In every nation are good players and noobs, and now are more noobs from every nation in PR. Believe me, I know a server, on which your experiences will be much more horrible...
I can play in every squad, also in one without VOIP, I dont care is it a japanese or a english squad. What I dont like are squads with noobs, who talk talk talk without play and without results.

What about putting your country in front of your name like GER, GB, US,Fr , etc. It always helps. Its much easier to properly communicate with everyone if you know what languages they understand.
