PDW is a good idea. Especially for maybe the AT class or a new pilot or mechanised class.
Yes police forces do use them but I have not heard of SF units outside of Russia using the weapon. Neither have I seen a scope for it. The scoped version which has either a red dot or night vision sight is the AKS-74U-N and has a standard side mounted rail.
A nice bit of info is that a AKS-74U can have a silenced greande launcher fitted (the BS-1).
