Awesome, my professors out and we have a sub, so I don't even have to stay in class today!!!!!
I need to make quick correction...I think that every 2 weeks an ‘issue’ should be put out that is focused on PR players...then once a month an 'issue' should be published for the BF2 community to try and draw new players in.
I am not sure how the PR 'Pr' team is currently organized, but I think that a ‘sub-public relations team’ should be organized for this project. Including editors, journalists, publishers, etc. Organization and collaboration would be the key for this project to reach its potential.
Also, I got to thinking about the presentation of this whole newsletter idea. Instead of a traditional HTML formatted email, maybe throw it up as a small website, displaying the current issues, links to past issues, thus allowing users to navigate the article with ease while providing and enjoyable and informative experience. I am not sure of the clientele you guys have for website coding, but I would assume you have a few out there! The site would be nothing too elaborate; it should actually be extremely easy to code.
This is just a thought, might be retarded or it might be the greatest thing since sliced bread! So feel free to tell me to get back on the short-bus if necessary.

Something like PoE dose, with a wekly update on things. Be it as small as a new member, or as large as a new model and skin. Any progress news, is interesting news.
True, that is why the more I thought about it, I think it should be geared toward the [PR] community.
Maybe it's just me, but I would read an entire 3-5 page issue on [PR]. Hell, I'd read the SOB twice. Maybe I am weird, but I am sure I am not the only one who is enthralled in [PR]!
On the other hand, maybe it is too much. Maybe once a month would be better. I dunno, I just through an idea out I thought was good. Shoot it down or constructively mold it into what you want by offering suggestions and ideas.
I am but a mere [PR] pee-on.

While I really like the 'newspaper' idea, that's hardly something you could do every week is it? And I think whatever we decide, it should be something to do regularly. More than once a month. Because once you get people hooked with a newspaper, they don't want to wait another month unless they're already in the community. Also, an update every week will keep us on the front page of BF2 news sites. A small update on a certain area, from the devs concerned, would do that. I think...

Ok here's an idea:
-Newspaper every 2 weeks.
-Updates as they become avaliable...make these short and sweet with a complete story in the following newspaper release.
I think that is what u meant Wolf.

I really like the videos idea; we have a lot of stuff that just typing 'you can do this now' or 'this works like this now' doesn't really do justice. I would love releasing some like 30 second promos of some cool .3 stuff.

PR is defiantly falling behind in "marketing" or "advertising" their mod. Now, it helps to get weekly updates. If your lacking in manpower, or an amount of devs you can throw in a little "wanted" advertisment in your updates as well. From what I see, alot of mods that constantly advertise themselves always get a new developer on their team maybe every one or two months.
Teaser videos can also give a mod a huge boost in terms of "hype" for the community.
You see, when you have a bunch of guys comming in asking "when will it be realsed?", then you know your doing well to get yourselves noticed
Not to mention, your likely to receive more interviews from community sites when you have alot of attention.
Also, how about a "dev diary" section for the community? Just a little something the devs could post about their current work and where its headed. Also, how about organizing "fan mappacks" for the community as well, hell even throw in some of the best maps for the official mod itself (PoE did this with the community as well).
Alot of this I've seen by experiance.

hehe not bad
but the idea with the newspaper all two weeks sound realy good! not only text... no, a multimedia newspaper... available as pdf file (do adobe support videos in pdf files?) from our homepage, and a slim version send via mail to our community... latest pictures, interviews and build infos... available in other languages (german, france etc.) too...

Events are everything;
Tournaments, Trainings for newbies, Mapping competitions and stuff.
Those directly invoke the player, which is far more interesting than a movie/trailer.
EDIT:
Why not a trailer competition?
The Clan, that sends in the best 30sec Trailer wins?
