actually i think, as old as you should be to subscribe to your army, so 18 in germany

I get distracted & aggravated by high pitched adolescent non-stop jibba jabba...

If your not old enough to get a real job, i don't think you should play the game...

well, in my case, i started vbf2 at 13.
I played GTA Vice City at 11/12 i guess.
Personaly, i think that whole age system EA or someone else put up, is quite overrated.
look at me, theres nothing wrong with me.
I dont have sadistic thoughts, i dont think its cool to beat up people for no reason in real l ife (although in GTA i allways have a laugh when i do that for the first time, in case of a new version of GTA)

On the other hand, I dont think its normal to have a 8 year old play a game like this.
IF there would be an age limit, id put it on 10 years old. Reason: you start to get into puberty (sry if spelled wrong) and as the years pass on, you will get more mature.

but thats just my oppinion.
(hmm, quite some spam i put in here.)

The real question is how mature you should be in order to play.

Yup, that's about my view on it.

The most annoying thing I find about PR censorship stuff though is the bad language filters and warnings and such on most servers. Call me old fashioned, but isn't a bit of swearing not really quite as bad as simulated warfare?

age is irrelevant, mostly, but:

the tendency to smacktard behavior or just the occasional power trip (SL disobedience) increases with decreasing age.

We here at the GCA have everyone screened by Kravixon, and after that, age IS irrelevant...

I have played with people younger than the recommended age who have been better players than those older.

Age doesn't especially matter in terms of appropriate behaviour for squad members etc. Maturity is what counts there.

In terms of age-appropriate games, well, I know that my kids won't be touching anything excessively violent until their teens. It's simply not necessary. Not because I think it'll warp their minds or anything like that, but I think it's important that kids learn that there are differences between being an adult and being a child; they are NOT supposed to do everything that their parents do, it is NOT their right to act like an adult, and the distinction between "what dad plays" and "what I can play" is part of keeping that boundary between childhood and adulthood.

I was playing Postal 1, Diablo, Duke Nuken 3d,GTA,Sodier Of Fortune, Mortal Kombat, Carmaggedon [oh yeah],Fallout sersies,Kingpin, when i was 8-12

I m a normal and sensitive person ... tbh games doesnt affect us soo much. Our parents , enviroment , scholl makes us who we are. Everyone just blame games beacuase this is the easiest thing to do.

Might as well add in a Hollywood accent requirement.

Anyhoo, my general rule is, when you feel em drop down there, and a lump just beneath your head and above your shoulders(possibly a lump down there aswell at certain times) then you can play games.

I know of many great players who are 12-15. Age doesnt matter, maturity does.

This thread reminds me of the "Should you have to speak English in PR" thread. Both seems a little elitist. I can understand getting annoyed with some 14 year old yelling into the mic but they have the same right to play as you do.

Well, for me to take someone seriously to play with needs somekind of maturity.
I just cant take 13 year old boy who has high pitch voice seriously, sorry...
