no, the system with killing you if you don't have a driver/gunner would be frustrating. sometimes it happens that your mate gets disconnected, and therefore you don't have a gunner/driver. if after 30 seconds you would be killed that would be just a waste of asset, RTB will be impossible. 2+ people in squad to get crewman kit is a good idea.

You should still be able to 1-man drive it. But maybe make it so that the gun can't be operated without a driver (from same squad ofc) or make a big delay in switching to gunner seats.

Or 2+ people in a squad to get the crewman kit, yes.

i dont think its a good idea for the gun not operating with out a driver on cashan when i get a bmp and drive i useualy get out so 1) i can scout and 2) the engine makes alot of noise and the inf will know something is up (i do this when we ambush armor and other shit)

2 Kits A gunner kit and a driver kit... Easy as that. And if you need to RTB that badly you can switch the kits out. It will also need 2 people in a squad to request both the kits.

You mean that you have to be 3 in the squad total? Cuz that aint a good idea, since some tournament tankers are only 2 per squad. I like the way it is- you could of course give the crewman only a pistol or something.

No no no. 2 people squad. A gunner (gunner kit) and a driver(Driver/operator kit) x3 and you have 3 manable tanks and a 6 person squad. The kit specs would be easy.
Gunner:
Main Armament:N/A
Secondary Armament:Light Pistol or SMG
Extras: Field Dressing x1,Flare/smoke Grenade

Driver:
Main Armament: (Basic Red dot/Iron Sighted gun) EX:Marines would be the M4 with a red dot.
Secondary Armament:Light Pistol
Extras: Field Dressing x2(Driver may get out to see if he has been immobilized and take fire) ,Flare/smoke Grenade

Really myself I've always thought the army trained gunners and driver as two different jobs as a tanker.

What if you're in the middle of Kashan Desert on a hill and the other guy gets DC'ed? Then you die too and an MBT is stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Yup, seems like the best solution, not sure why the DEVs have simply kept on adding to the delay rather then just doing this.

On the subject of delays, I assume it's not possible though and this is why it's not in game, but it'd be nice to have a delay for all larger vehicles before they can move out, seems kinda odd that they can get moving so quickly. Would give inf a slight advantage getting into the field on combined arms maps before the vehicles come to destroy everything.

meh, i have had the tracks disabled but the turret still working, in that case, i want my driver to be able to hop out and maybe get a cmd truck (since usually no one else will) and i can keep firing.

just yesterday, on muttrah, our apc took a hit and both the tracks were down, but turret was still up, and i was almost full on ammo. my driver hoped out, got a truck and drove it there for repairs ( we drove over a mine like 2 minutes after we were fixed, but that doesnt matter).

in the time i was sitting there, i killed 2 enemy apcs ( the little ones that MEC have on muttrah) 12 infantry including 2 hats and a lat. So no, i dont think this is a good idea.

Not really, you just jump out before the 30sec are past and than back in.
But i would go with GoreZiads version now.

To be quite honest with you, the inf should be going in only after the teams vehicles have gained superiority.


You definitely need to be able to drive one man, but if you are being taken out by one man tanks, you really need to get the show on the road with your tank. Either he can´t shoot you for 30 secs, or he can´t move back, either way, you win.
