did you just open ps or open ps then a psd, i tried just starting ps and it did not work till i opened a psd file. I copied and put the dll into the
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 folder, for you it would be
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 or wherever you installed it, just askin...

Thanks for looking into this
I have Windows 7 Pro 32-bit and none of the fixes work (no PS so dll copied manually to various places and PC restarted).
I also downloaded Win 7's XP virtual machine but that has no D3D support - as far as I know... Does anyone know if there's a way to get D3D working in the XP VM?

thanks so much creepin, this fixed my problem, I had to install photoshop to get this to work though.
I had the exact same issue with moving objects, and running winxp with CD version BF2.

I've just installed 64-bit Windows 7 and still can't get the Editor to work properly with the dll copied to Windows/System or the BF2 main folder. Can anyone tell me if the opening PS and a psd fix works with PS Elements? Thanks.

I'm not sure about PS Elements but I'm using Win 7 x64 and Photoshop CS3 and the photoshop trick works for me. However Win 7 already has the missing file creepin mentioned in its system32 so I still have to load up an image in photoshop every time. I'm really glad I can actually use Win 7 for mapping though, not had any other issues other than the compatibility ones you get when setting up, great work creepin!

Just to update: the PS trick doesn't work with PS Elements 3.0. I still can't get the original comctl32.dll trick to work either
Edit: just installed the PS CS4 trial and it works fine. So I now have 30 days of mapping time unless someone gives me £150

Another way to fix this problem is to turn on gamebooster.
You can download it here:
