I'm not a rocket scientist but can't you just mute someone on mumble if you don't like it?

if I ever hear people playing music over mumble unless they are in a jeep and not on all chat (cuz...thats kinda realistic tbh....) I shall use the bahnhammer
You mean, if someone is using FCC to broadcast music? Yeah, that's just plain annoying.
I don't mind if its positional, but if it's FCC you'll have the whole channel angry, not just you and me.

Damnit, you guys arent getting this. When broadcasting music, the only people who hear it are-
1. Those who are within about a 20-30m radius of you.
2. Those not ingame, but within the mumble channel.
#2 are the people who *****. They hear the music like its right next to them, and have no way to get rid of it other than muting the broadcaster. The retarded part is- why are they in the channel but not ingame?!
I suppose it could be damn annoying for the 3-5 minutes that the loadup procedure takes. But once ingame, the music is no longer an issue. This whole problem of being able to hear people when not ingame is going to be fixed in the next mumble release (which will be soon, methinks).
_____________
So, bottom line is dont run from Mumble just because a few self-proclaimed idiots like myself dj. The pain only lasts until you're ingame (and now I've started a policy of asking if anyone is not ingame before I begin mixin the beats

)

yea, I agree with cfschris. we were on muttrah last night and playing music, and we were the only ones who could here it so it was fine.

well one way you can do it is to go to sounds, recording volume, select 'what you hear' instead and this will cause you to transmit 'what ur hearing' instead
use it for annoying purposes or for people who request that you don't do that and I'll find you and destroy you

On my winXP machine i can just open up the volume controls, Click options> Properties. Set Mix device to input. Put a check beside 'Stereo Mix' or similar. Click Ok, Now i can select either Mic or Stereo Mix with the check box at the bottom. With it set to stereo mix i can play winamp and have mumble combine my mic and winamp.

Oh my goodness.. don't EVER play music near me, ever!
And "if you don't like it, step away a few meters", wtf?? Stop broadcasting!!

Untick Mute for Stereo Mix under your Recording Controls (Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Voice), that is for Windows XP. Though just saying that it can sound bad, though perhaps might turn out better if you have a dedicated sound card?

Dont play music in mumble.
Not a request. if you play music and irritate people, you may get kicked/banned.

I dont like the music either, nothing against it but I dont want to hear it. Maybe we could set up a "music" channel and all that want to listen while playing can go to that channel, which kind of defeats the purpose of mumble.

I also would hate music in mumle.
But speaking in theory, wouldnt it be fun in Barracuda. Flying the lynx getting people inland and then transmit this so opfor could hear it too in mumble like this...playing ride of the valkyries!
