Re: Tell me what is realistic about Fallujah
Falluja is way too small and cuz of it it doesnt give marines enough time. If it would be like 2km/4km, the problem would be fixed. Abrams tank would help a lot, cuz it can take view more rpg´s then apc´s so more defense for us....but it wouldnt fit in marines faction.
E-Terrorist fan boys are not welcome on the forums.

Re: Tell me what is realistic about Fallujah
1) it can, as well as repairing light vehicles.
2) The great big sandbag-roofed building in the middle perhaps? with one squad defending the main as a QRF you can keep the enemy away.
3) A LB would not fix it, it would either get shot down, or would over power the americans.
4) Then don't let them get right up to the walls.
5) The corners aren't the problem - there's two towers on the main gate, one on the rear, and even a tower covering the road in the SE corner.
6) The Red Cross Centre. It has walls, and towers. No better place for a FB.
also, the Majority of conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq (more Afghan though) has been Insurgents firing into British and US bases?
*EDIT* You can also go outside the British base on Al Basrah and plant an IED or mine there, then rush back to the cache in a car tog et another one, then lay another IED.
That's another thing - it requires more than one sapper to continuously lay IEDs outside the US main - how the hell have these guys managed to get there, and stay there long enough to actually Lay IEDs down? If you were competent you would get yoru squad to clear them out in H1.
P.s, insurgents don't have Rally Points, just hide outs, which they need to build, and therefore if the Insurgents managed to get enough people there with shovels to build it up quickly enough to then start bombarding your Main before you get out, you're team deserves to be trapped inside the main base.

Re: Tell me what is realistic about Fallujah
Oh god, here we go again.
An LB would make for enormous abuse on this map, just a small squad flying and picking off people. I believe that air assets will be eliminated for all non-4 km maps.....
Your the USMC. Don't rely on the game to keep INS out of main. That's unrealistic. What I like about this map is that USMC has to have some kind of patrol. It's not just all "Run along, destroy caches now". That's pretty realistic. I think that 1 more Humvee might help though.
The INS are already severely depleted of assets. Anyways, in real life, Insurgents will get into bases and do suicide attacks or bombs in there..... You could set up a checkpoint, or seal of a perimeter. It can all be done with one squad. If you get bored watching and guarding at close range, just get targets from far away or switch patrol duty with another squad (provided they are pro enough to accept the switch).

Re: Tell me what is realistic about Fallujah
You are right its a problem, but its a problem only on servers that allows baseraping =) Mappers are making those so called "mainbases" only a place where you can spawn, plan and regroup, noone hasnt even tried to make realisticly protected military bases yet. Mappers are not making mainbases to be an area where fight is supposed to happen, mainbase is only a spawnpoint with little cover against snipers so its not too tempting for players to spawnrape.
Biggest reason for this is that making realisticly protected militarybase would take shitloads of space from your map and all you get is boring gameplay.
Baseraper fans are defending baseraping because of the idea of attacking enemy mainbase is realistic, but they dont realise that none of our mainbases are not realisticly protected military bases, they are spawnpoints, nothing more. Therefore its spawnraping, not baseraping.
If some mapper wants to make a map where you are supposed to attack enemy mainbase, then he will make the mainbase realisticly protected, else, base raping is unrealistic + **** for gameplay. I dont really understand why some server allows it but my guess was they thought it was realistic =p Just play on servers who doesnt allow it to happen =)

The guy makes some valid points in the original post.
Terrorists shouldn't be hitting the entrance to the base with IEDs so easily.

Re: Tell me what is realistic about Fallujah
IT wouldnt be easy if it was guarded dooohh.
The AR will rip apart any insurgents getting near the gate.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Re: Tell me what is realistic about Fallujah
Ye ive had a 3 man base defense squad and easily defended the base. People just slightly forget this point and think leaving main is easy as 1 2 3. Also people saying "urr how can you plant ieds so close to a main base in real life" well lots of FOBs and bases are reguarly IED in the night so patrols leaving in day are under threat short distance away. In the news section rudd posted a news article about a patrol coming back and finding an IED very close to their base.

A smaller Base is more likely to be attacked than a larger one though, because it's smaller. Anyway, as most have said, a 3 man defence team works fine.[R-DEV]Deer wrote:You are right its a problem, but its a problem only on servers that allows baseraping =) Mappers are making those so called "mainbases" only a place where you can spawn, plan and regroup, noone hasnt even tried to make realisticly protected military bases yet. Also as has been said, patrolling is the best way to do it. With a good commander and good SLs then you can have 2 or 3 squads out on set patrols covering different areas of the city (when contacted they report back to the Command,r who then dispatches a QRF made up of 1 or 2 squads depending on how likely it is that there is a cache around there.)

Re: Tell me what is realistic about Fallujah
Fallujah is not small, and I don't like it cos my PC can't handle it.
I heard people complaining about being base-raped, but I have never EVER experienced it myself.
Once, I kinda felt like enemy is trying to do so... but I was solo in the apc outside, and killed 60 of them before they gave up.
There is no base raping in PR.
Defend yourself.
Kill the enemy.

Wait wait, u admit u were solo APCing? Should have gotten kicked off the server for that. But you cant gun in the APC without a driver.... I mean i know a work around that, but still.
