Crazy! I had been suspicious of that colt guy but never could back it up. Then heard other ppl calling him cheat too, in-game. Nice to see it finally resolved, though at the same time, sad to see someone try to get away with this shit in our community...

I cant remember what game it was, some shooter or other, but you wouldnt believe ******** going on the official forum for the game on the company's site, and asking other people how to hack!

Heydude has (once more) been given a 1 month ban for all realitymod.com domains (root level). (He can't even see the front page.) We're discussing the best way to keep him off the tourney server right now.

but, what I fail to see in this is why this guy did it! He bothered to download the mod and deliberately hack only to get banned - seems like an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Plus he gained nothing from his hacking exploits - no ranks, no unlocks. Except maybe a larger ego.

I dont know, maybe he was smart enough to realise that people play PR to get away from vBF2 **** like that, and wanted to show that PR is still suspectible to much of the same **** as vBF2?

1 question, how do you get these punk buster screenshots and how did you suspect him of hcaking in the first place?

Ok.. First up, he had a score of 10 kills, no deaths in about the first 3 minutes of the game.... there is nothing wrong with that in itself - i've done it myself.. We all get good games where everything goes well.

However, It wasn't til Scottyboy was killed around a corner in a building by a 203 shell where he had absolutly no way of knowing he was there. When it happened twice, alarm bells started ringing.

Now, again - that is not proof of someone hacking.. a good player can use there ears to hear people and put pre-emptive fire down.. or someone else could have spotted you and that way they know you are coming... however, to Scottyboy, it just didn't feel right.

So.. to get the screeny? - Go to BF2CC and in the console command box type:

PB_SV_GETSS "coltm203"

obviously, replacing the name with whoever you want to snap.. Hit the "console" button and not the "chat" button to initiate the command - and then check the log page on BF2CC to make sure it worked.

Next, go to your servers files, in there, there is a PB folder, and in that, there is a folder called svss - and that's where all the PB's are taken.

It takes a good minute or so for a screeny to arrive.. and sometimes it fails - you can't request more than 3 in 10 minutes from one player either. I sometimes just use PB_SV_GETSS by itself to get a screenshot from everyone on the server - then review them later. It's like random drug testing

ok cool, i think you only need to right click on the player in BF2CC to get the screenshot in that tab.

I don't think there is an option for that in BF2CC... I could be wrong. They implemented it on one version, and there removed it for some reason.

We used to use BF2RA as a second admin tool, because you could take screenies of people instantly with that.

Guys, again I cannot emphasise to the PR community enough, and especially server admins, that http://www.punksbusted.com is the way to go.

Having a streaming server ensures that PB works at 100% effiency. PB on it's own will ban locally, and NOT globally like it says when it catches a cheater. The PsB MBL (Master Ban List - streaming server) is updated every day with ALL banned GUIDs from ALL BF2 servers that participate (a lot), and makes the Global Ban setup actually work. You would be as safe as you can be from punks cheating. If you are an active admin, and you have a PBss like the one in this thread, you post it. The server admins all vote on whether the player should recieve a ban or not, and the GUID is added to the MBL. Meaning that any cheat NOT picked up by PB automatically will be picked up by the screenshots, and you can take action to ban their GUID. Being from the League Admin community for Call of Duty (1 & 2) I cannot stress enough how extensively this system is used, and is VERY effective!

Players who constantly return black PB screens (say they are on for an hour playing and you don't get ONE clean shot back, just all balck ones) may be using a ss blocker. Be aware of that. You also find that clean players will return black screens, as this is down to client bandwidth. But during a 30 minute period, they should return at least 1 clean shot.
Sign up to their site, and read up on the BF2 setup (I don't know about the BF2 specific things).
