Really... WHY would you create an anti-PR thread in the PR forum?

Not trying to be mean or anything but...

SERIOUSLY! This just doesn't make sense to me!

Nah not a chance. ArmA2 simply offers a completely different style to PR and the numbers are heavily in our favour.

Not to mention the engrossing nature of this mod given the social attitude towards it. I have played this game more than any other ever, and I racked up about 2000 hours on GTA:San Andreas...

With that kind of commitment from players that I see every day in PR, I cant see it going quietly.

Not to mention PR2 being somewhat in the works I can see this mod going on and on.

Regarding system requirements this will always go up and up as with all games. I simply cannot understand people complaining about the size/system needs of PR given that it is small compared with most other current games. If you cant play it, buy a better PC.

Haven't read or seen anything get that makes me think we'll get anymore players or better teamwork. I get the feeling that ArmA 2 and OFP2 will be more single player focused. Its the teamwork ethos in the community that makes PR what is I think as much as what can be done with the engine.

Still no point speculating too much, we'll see what they turn out like when they're released.

I'm going to do a vision test for you.
What does this say?

Thank you. Bf1942 hasn't died, Bf2 hasn't died, and PR isn't even done being made yet. I guarantee you I will still be playing PR... especially with all the community factions and new content constantly being put in. Maybe a while after its done being made we will talk.

As you can see by this graph...Image
I have too much freetime.

To be honest most of the games out right now, or coming out are a rip off. You will play them for like 3 months and leave. People the days of CS 1.6, CoD1, MOHAA, and those games which we played FOR YEARS, are over. More and more devs are shoving game play into the toilet. Most games nowadays last like 3 months and get boring. BTW CS 1.6, CoD1, MOHAA remained popular, and active, way after their engines and graphics became outdated. So I see PR remaining active for a few more years, but however it will eventually die like everything great in our wold. But we move on, adapt, and survive (PR2).

Sounds like most of the economists talking in here. "won't happen"

I'm not staying it will die out any time soon but everyone is so sure that it won't. Its just alittle funny.

Ahh... What do the numbers on Y-Axis mean? Number of players concurrently? Or did you just make those numbers up? :)

I don't think PR is anywhere near dead. I play other mods that are considered to be very much alive, and even they don't have half the amount of players as PR does. There are always full 64 player servers everytime I log on and because of my time zone, I never log on during peak hours (well, my peak hours are peak hours for Aussies and Kiwis).

PR should be fine for the next couple years. It will last even longer if they port it over to a new engine at some point.

PR is more popular than ever, with more people downloading it every day. Yeah, it might be built on an old game engine but it offers many things that other games can't.

The PR team continue to squeeze more and more out of BF2 with every release, it'll continue to get a bigger player base until and beyond the time that the mod is complete.

So in answering the OPs question, No! Not by a long shot. :)

Do the numbers in the above graph show the number of weekly fast rope related posts created? :p

I think PR is still far from the end, its community still grows stronger every months, it will probably be supported by Devs atleast until the version 1.0 and we are still having a very good time playing PR.

Plus, I want to play the Canadian Forces!!
They better have nice maps!

Now, Arma II look great but as far as I know, they focus on single player... I would like to know more about multiplayer because I play these games for online gaming. Not to play against bots.

Hehe, no one's given my post a good look over yet. Probably a good thing, tbh, though.
