Of everything that could possibly be removed from the Officer kit to make room for a separate, mag-linked weapon with tracer rounds, the pistol is the least important.

You've made this argument on other things, and it's no less valid now: the squad is the officer's 'personal defense weapon'. If the Officer is working with his squad, he does not need a pistol.

If you can find something else to remove, great, but the pistol is not essential to the kit.

I say do away with all tracers and add ballistics's so we can go ahead and move to a better PR.

Just make the round hitting the wall do a bigger poof of smoke so people can see where there shooting still.

On the topic No the SL dose not need this waste of a weapon slot.

let the SL have a "tracer gun" and a option on the Q-rose to shout "FOLLOW MY TRACERS"

that and then shot burst / full auto as every 3rd round will make a tracer.

Not for or against this idea, but why would you need to take up a weapon slot that is already filled for a 'tracer' rifle?

Imagine you could just 'clone' the SL's weapon and adjust so that his 'new' AR has nothing but tracers.
Keep the same index number.

This way he has pistol and tracer rifle, not rifle and tracer rifle.

Also who told about removing pistol(not me),remove one of the coloured smokes(there are 2 types of smokes right?)

Well,its not a big deal of course but it might be used by smart SLs,easier to cooperate with other squads...

This looks like an idea for "VOIP casual players"



Putting attack marker on the target is a lot easier and it's already in game... Don't make this mod overcomplicated without a good reason

the removal of a weapon is bad, but i can see it being useful, eg for marking targets for CAS, British apache piolts (sp?) actually have this in RL incase they get downed so they can request strikes on a target
