Insurgents, unless some other type wont be getting scopes anytime soon. The basic reasoning behind this is unlike conventional troop INS based maps and gamemode is made to be totally different then classic force on force.

If your engaging an enemy (BLUFOR) and need scopes to hit them your playing the class/gamemode wrong. The way you should be playing INS is:

How you should play

• Hit and run
• Ambushes
• Overpowering by numbers
• Harassing

All designed to make the BLUFOR lose cohesion and fail objectives. No part of the list needs scopes.

How you shouldn't play

• Force on force
• Head on fights
• Using multiply squads to engage
• Using assests

Its not as bad on some maps but on maps like fallujah the streets have barely any debris to hide behind so its easier to get caught in the open and killed from long ranges. Makes it suck being the insurgents but fun as the US I admit.

I like how ramiel has awesome **** everywhere to hide behind wrecked cars bomb craters lots of ally ways and ways to escape some maps have too many dead ends and its impossible to hop over walls, if there was more escape routes it would be allot easier to attack at close range and fall back regroup and do the same ambush style attacks.

the guns are fine for now unless they plan on making larger maps but they should definitely add a few more SVD's to a few INS maps, the Al qaeda feels like it should like a semi conventional army since they can get kits and fight large scale battles like IRL.

Insurgents aren't the greatest of warriors, since they don't get bandaids, and hardly anyone plays collaborator, whenever I get hit I like to do something stupid since I'm going to die anyway, like rushing an APC and spraying it with my AK-47. ^^

Had a moment on fallujah the other day

a US squad was moving towards us, i told the guys i was with not to fire at them long range we'd lose. they get closer and closer still. the 3 of us then open fire full auto with our AKs, took the whole squad out easily. we then ran away to get ready for another ambush

if ins get scopes i'll be a rather sad panda, atm i dont like the chechens that much as they just feel like Russians with wooden AK74s.

In Afghanistan 1 substitute american influence for Iranian influence.

He said Afghanistan. The Soviet Union (communist Russia plus some other states) invaded Afghanistan. That's what I was talking about and if I said Iraq, which I don't think I did, it was a mistake.

How it goes

• Hit and run - pretty much any contact with blufor will end bad for the Insurgents unless they manage to kill everyone in 3 seconds.
• Ambushes - mines get triggered by teammates in techs/cars driving over and generally only piss off the blufor as they need to go around a bit also no one is bored enough to wait forever to kill a random blufor who didn't notice the IED yet
• Overpowering by numbers - look #1 also while this does work you need like 2/3 of the Ins team just to deal with a 6-man blufor squad at times taking players away from caches and other stuff.
• Harassing - pretty much anyone firing a shot at blufor gets gunned down and accomplishes nothing thanks to no headshot kills and medic spam

If the Insurgents had some kind of weapon randomiser instead of a conventional pick a kit BF2 system that'd be better, with most people ending up with AKs and the very occasional crappy scoped gun, and also having the mosque pickups for MGs and RPGs and Anti Heli rockets.

I would like more insurgent guns to have some kind of scope on them. Are least one with a 2x - 4x scope. Nothing like the ACOG on the Murikan side though.

They've got the 4x PSO on the SVD, and the 4x whatever on the No.4 Enfield. The ACOG that but the USMC & US ARMY factions use are 4x.

That's not quite true. I've had a few times where I got a squad off track by bothering them to the point where they decided to come find me. The way I look at it if I can get just 2 or 3 of them to waste time hunting me, that's keeping them from the only real objective of destroying caches and evening out the numbers by tying them up.

Harassment is just like any technique, there's the right time/place for it and there's a wrong time/place.

The Insurgent faction is not in the Afghanistan maps. And the faction(Taliban) that is on the Afghanistan maps already have scopes.

I lawl'd you contradicted what you were trying to prove by saying Afghanistan.

Insurgents have more high explosives per man than any other army. They are the only army I know of that has an unlimited kit equivalent to the Combat Engineer. Add to that the fact that they respawn with no penalty other than a timer and that their rifles can actually hit stuff now... I don't see the need frankly.

Its asymmetrical design for a reason.

USSR was asked officially by the Afghan government to help out.

I can't see how a couple of scopes for the Ins. will suddenly make things symmetrical.It won't.

And please people don't forget the blufor's heavy assets (air/apc's.. etc....)
-Insurgents have NONE of that,and as long as they don't it will stay asymmetrical.

no SVD for SL, would get to many people going SL to get good kit. would create lots of "black hole" squads.
