That is also true, but in PUBs its hard to get proper intel from your teammates due to the EA Message
from what I can see in game these are distance of what a gunner can see and what an aa can see when looking at eachother
AA: ---------------
Chopper: -----------
It appears when ingame, aa can lock onto a helo farther than the helo can actualy recognize what that is in the distance

You ignored me. And the lock distance is lower than view distance afaik.
Flares on aircraft are meant to be used before they lock, not while they are trying. That's why you have thirty that you let out one by one. Drop them whenever you are flying somewhere that is not secure and you are low enough to be locked.

Disagree
You disperse around 10 flares on an average as precatuion during an attack run,if there is an enemy jet on your tail you should be dispersing one every 1-2 seconds. Now keep in mind that you'll spend all your flares in 3 runs without being chased but still have half of your ammo...
And precatuion flares dont work well, with jets esp.,and most ppl fire first missile without the lock, and they sometimes hit.
Conc:They should still have defensive role after missile is launched

Its actually the same, of in some cases like kashan, higher than view distance.

Flares should be being filled up in mid air over the airfield like in Vanilla. then you could use them as a precaution. also, there should be a radar (HUD) system, which shows all ground/air vehicles but the viewdistance of those green squares on the hud should be much higher then the min distance to lock on them.

the rwr doesnt track the missile, but it can only track the radar beam of the opponent jet, so you see only the plane on the RWR or the TEWS and you hear and see the warning if it launches a missile.
btw im a huge Lock On player
RWR displays incoming radar guided missiles as an M on the RWR. At least for the F16, and the A10 likely uses the same RWR.
