Just downloaded and applied the 1.22 patch. Still no dbghelp.dll in my game folder? Where is the file supposed to be?

It SHOULD be in \EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\
703 kb in size.
Edit: FULL path:
C:\Program\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\
If you live in the states or possibly in the UK as well the path should be:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\
I'll be damned if I know WHY DICE couldn't make it install to the same default directory on every machine... Bah!

I ran the patch twice, still no dbghelp.dll in the root folder. Could someone send me the file or something? I've got 9 BF2 mods installed, and I'd hate to have to redownload them all..

That file was not updated for the vBF2 1.22 patch, therefore it is not included in the patch. The patches only update files that are new or have been modified. The dbghelp.dll file has never been altered in ANY patch.
And no, someone can not just send you the file because once you have it an installed; you will get kicked again except not for a “missing file”, this time for an “altered file.” If I send you the file, and you put it in your directory, it will change the date it was last modified, which PsB checks, and kicks, for.
The only solution for this problem that I know of would be a clean install. Sorry mate, but somewhere along the way, either you or one of the 8 other mods you have installed screwed with something it shouldn’t! I say 8 because PRMM does not touch that, or any other, file in your vanilla BF2 directory.
Sorry bro, wish I had another alternative!
For future reference, could you list the mods you installed???
Thanks,
-Slick

I think it might be enough to zip up the file and then extract it? Have you tried that, 2slick4u?

Thanks Fritz and I am sorry GrimmyD.
Please contact me via PM for the zip and you should be fine sir!

Sorry to resurrect this topic from BEYOND the dead, but I just started getting this error today...which is odd seeing as how i didnt get any new mods, or touch the BF2 folder at all. The only thing i did was install company of heroes and write a paper in open office today. Was hopin someone could zip up the file and publicly post it for the future as well.

Try going to punkbester and updating.
I got one of these errors last night but only on one server.
Past history suggests that tonight there will be more kicks for this and I will have to go to PB's site and update it even when it initially says " no update needed".
I get these errors every so often and updating from the PB site always solves the problem.

Okay, here's another thing that will get you kicked for md5 mismatch. Discovered it just now, and PB was helpful enough to tell me the file that had the problem.
'gamelogicinit.con'
When I first got PR, I always wanted the FPS counter to show up when I loaded in without manually inputting 'renderer.drawFPS 1'. So I searched around and found a way to do it.
Basically, I added 'renderer.drawFPS 1' at the very end of the 'gamelogicinit.con' file and saved it. Everytime I loaded up PR, the counter would be there.
But now, I'm probably going to get kicked for it in the future with PR and PB checking all files to assure no cheaters. So remove those lines you may have added and keep one blank line at the end of 'gamelogicinit.con'.
So basically, I was punished for my laziness.

Hope some other people who used this have no troubles after fixing it.

Well, the infamous "Clypp's Topographic Map" project is dead thanks to this new check. Is it really critical to check the client.zip file?
