I myself wasn't a big fan of using the Cyrillic letters (the pronunciation always confuses me after I read something in Russian), but I thought I'd give it a shot and see how it looked anyway. If I try again I might ditch them.

That's a decent picture DankE. I'm not sure how I'd be able to work it in with the wording, but I'll give it a go later, thanks for posting it. Also, I tried to find a picture of some Soviet paratroopers from the era, but all were on the ground, and if you're going to use a picture of troops on the ground, the fact that they're paratroopers is pretty irrelevant.

However, if anyone has one or a link to one, I'd gladly check it out.

Is everything else ok, or should I ditch it and try again with a new design? I personally didn't mind the Red Banner in the background, but then that's not for everyone I suppose...

EDIT: I'm having a look at that site now chuck, it looks really good, I'll definitely use a font from there, thanks for the link!

Ok, I've given it another crack. I much prefer this new version. It's still not perfect, but I think it's a lot better than the last one. Again, all feedback is appreciated.

It does look pretty good indeed could use a different font imo but over all we are getting there

I'm working on a couple of new ideas. One of them will take a while to do properly, so that'll take a few days. I think you'll like it. The other one I'd need a picture of some paratroopers in the air, preferably from the ground looking up; I can't find one, but if someone else comes across one I'd really appreciate their posting it, or a link. Otherwise it'll just be the one picture, but that's ok.

As far as the font goes, I really do think this is the best one that doesn't incorporate Cyrillic text, so unless you want me to use a specific font, I'm just going to keep on using this one. Otherwise, say so and I'll take a look. In any case, I should have another one or two up within the next few days.

It's not strictly a banner, but even so, I put a good few hours into it, and I like it a fair bit. The design is based on this flag, which appears on a couple of World in Conflict maps, so I thought you might appreciate the sentiment. There's a slightly different focus for this picture than the others, you might like it, you might not, but that's ok either way. Whatever you think, unless by some miracle I'm not buried in work for the next week or two, I probably won't be able to work on any new designs unless someone presents a picture for me to use, or gives me some specific specs for what they'd like.

Also, a while back on the Massgate forums, this flag offended some players. While I thought that was an overreaction, I can understand why some people might be offended it, so if you are, I apologise but remind you that I didn't come up with it, and that it has to be viewed within the context of the scenario.

Thats starting to look alot better, and if u can make an animated banner that would be awsome.

Maybe when making a banner including military forces, if you can photoshop them into a picture in America. Like have paratroppers falling on New York or the invasion of Seattle.
Anyways i like that flag, although it wouldnt exactly be a banner but it still looks good, maybe it could be used in game.

Yeah after the US and USSR factions have been made i could love to see a Nato/German faction, on a berlin map.

its to symbolise what game mode the maps is

do_Mauer = Domination

tw_Wasteland = Tug of war

as_Typhoon = Assault map

Guys check back on the Cold War minimods orginal topic, if any of u guys have any skill in SKINNING or CODING please post back. Right now the mod still needs guys to skin and code so that it can be realeased, keep up the work on the banners tho.
