the G-36 internal and XM-8 are quite similar, in fact you can say that XM-8 is a derivative of G-36. So if all you want is a rifle with similar firing performance then the G-36 comes quite close. Or at least that's in theory, since no one i know of ever used XM8.

I perfer the design of the G36 to the late XM8. The G36 is, dare I say it, sexy LOL

the g36 is a fine gun, i love it. the multifunction nature and all of it kicks ***... it realy is sexy lol.

But the XM8, in matte black (not spraycan desert pattern like most of the photos ive seen) with its simple, adjustable role, is just awesome. its like a swiss army knife, add tripod, extend barrel, swap in the big double drum ammo mag. goes from Assault rifle to LMG so easily.

that alone makes it something id just love to own, to show "this is what can be done when you think hard enough bout a problem"
