I dunno, I thought they made it you couldn't see vehicles on map if you weren't close enough? or is that just a bug?addaco wrote:THats very good. And it lasts forever, untill a new one is created.
I had a thought, how about locaton specific? So all sqd members can place markers, but you can only see sqd members markers if you are 70m or closer to them (same idea as mumble). That way it is mroe realistic, as it is liek a sqd member pointing out enamy locations to you. The screen wouldnt be cluttered as sqd members on the other side of the map wont see the markers from the other side.
But, as with many things, I expect it is HARDCODED

I would love it, but a suggested alteration, above the marker, there could be like the text that shows you range, only it says [name] so you know who's marker you're looking at.

Re: "Look over there" markers.
SL has a look marker comand the SL can just tell SL where the enemy is . place a marker.. and the squad can all see where the enemy is .. EASY ^_^

Problem with this is that when you dont need ANY marker and your stuck with 2 markers, would be good, but need them to be removable for both SM AND SL.

Hey Dev's, is this hardocded or what? Haven't seen any activity in here so I was curious.

You know he has a point...Adetter wrote:Aint it a spot marker if u press "Q" then left-click?
Isn't this pretty much the old BF2 standard spotting system but less of the 'I stick to the enemy and show you his movements!' Cause that kinda sounds like exactly the same thing, Granted you'd have to look at the map to see it but that in and of itself would be helpful.

Something I would like to know too.richyrich55 wrote:Hey Dev's, is this hardocded or what? Haven't seen any activity in here so I was curious.
+1 from me. Would be really great to have something like those Spotmarkers.
Also there ARE markers ingame. Remember the "Enemy whatsoever sighted" from vBF2?
Maybe you could just make them appear on the 3d map (The feature to make markers and tags appear on your hud) and limit them to one per soldier. They are already time-limited (disappear after a few seconds) so I think this could work.
What do the Devs think?

I wonder if its maybe possible to link an animation to the flare key. That way you could push the flare button and your soldier would literally point in the direction you were looking in a way similar to the civilian's "hands up"

Re: "Look over there" markers.
It is a good idea although I don't want to see it implemented if it is possible.
I find the game experience very exciting when you are in the deep line of the enemy and you fall right in front of a squad and you spot it via the VOIP (although it is very confusing to describe the exact position). It happens so many times, you can't find the words : "contact in front of me, in front of me!!!", another guy : "Where in front, where geez???". Sometimes you survive or you die.
That is the core of PR and it reflects the reality perfectly. It is not a matter of marks but of a better communication (you communicate what you see to the other players).

The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting.

I think its good enough as it is. you can just tell other sq members where they are with your compass, and it is more realistic without any markers for sq members or SLs! i would not say that i want sq look markers ingame. more realistic without it i say.

Re: "Look over there" markers.
im not sure about that kind of markers but im sure that movemarker has very often used to point enemys.
i have few times in game start to engage to movemarker accidently, because squadleader has just pointed enemys with that.
sl:"enemy contact"
sm:"where,i cant see it"
sl:"there"and squadleader place a marker to the enemys position.

Like Wilkinson said... it's already been implemented - this thread is very old.
