Theres a reason you don't see anyone above the rank of captain on the frontlines....and the only way you'd see a captain was if he was with special forces...you just don't. There are too many things that could go wrong, i.e. like I said before, a sniper...AT....even a mortar strike or a raid with .50 cal pickup trucks...not to mention mines and IEDs...He has no reason to go out anyways. Why risk the chance of being killed? so he can look at some desert? honestly?

Its hard to source the comment as everyone has a different defenition of the commander. Is he the leader of 32 soldiers? Then he definetely would be with his team and coordinate the squads. And skater, there are always risks in war or not? He could get a spawntime of 300 seconds if he is dead maybe.

So then again, why would he go outside where he could get killed? He could stay in his little command hut without getting hurt. Or he could go outside and get hit by an RPG in his humvee...

Like I said...to measure up the situation. and to give spiritual care for his troops if I may call it like that.

And you did not answer my question: Is he the leader of 32 soldiers? If so its obvious why he is getting to the front. He would even fight a bit if the situation is urgent.

1.He can get intel from one of his officers (squad leaders)...
2.why in gods name do they need spiritual care? they need to know that if they fail they'll die...thats all the motivation I'd need.
3.He would be more helpful commanding and calling in area attacks than shooting up some random taliban and dying

I was never in a war. But I got a firm with some employees. And I am really interested what they do and like to see it by myself. Do you really think its much different in a battle?

And if its a urgent situation I do the "dirty work" as I do not wanna lose my battle.

To talk about this whole Commander thing. Its great to have one, but i think as we implement Mumble more, the need for a commander will be somewhat, overrated, people will start becoming Platoon leaders... Etc..

I would love to have a bot Commander, like in the bf2 SP. But did we already agree that it was not possible??
