I'm also using the Evo Force
It's extremely nice, the only downside is that the joystick twist is a bit unreliable since it either wants to go slightly left or right even if you calibrate it.

No dead zone calibration? The Saitek software for the x52 lets you see exactly how much signal the joystick's sending with any motion (x,y,z, throttle axis), and set a slider for it to 'ignore' movement in the zone.

I have Logitech Attack 3 but I prefer mouse.
I got used to it in BF2 so...

Yea. I've done that, and it works that way.

It's probably my only annoyance with the Evo, the twist rudder needs a pretty big deadzone because it'll think you're inputing a slight right twist when you're just resting your hand on it. But otherwise the profiler's a charm, and it's been very reliable, though sometimes (Read: rarely) the software will seem to be forgotten and you have to reinstall it

PR needs more buttons than what I have. But I have been cleaver and mapped button 5 as weapon slot 1 so I don't have to cycle all the way pass all the view point weapon slots.


I Know it's old. But it works just fine. Plus I got it for free from a friend about 3 years ago.
It has twist/rudder and HAT. And I think I can proof I can use it just fine

And also I'm considering buying a ps2-controller since my controller adapter supports that too and the L-button is broken on the n64-controller.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro like a few others earlier, it's cheap, but it's perfect for flying in PR.

i have An X52 pro (programable FTW!!) though i can't get used to it in BF2 and PR (i found a flight sim where the little mouse stick works in (flight unlimited 3) it is difficult though)

+1 but i got it for £20 and the X52 non pro is still a bit damn expensive just for PR, but mayby that throttle will be good for hovering XD

One time i accidentally left my 360 controlled connected, and went to test a chopper map, and thought what the hell, and tried it out. I couldn't believe how easy it was. As long as the helicopter hovers at 0%, i'm not sure if they all do. If i hadn't spent so much time learning to fly good with a joystick i would be using the 360 controller. I would use it now, for the benefit of having analog throttle on all vehices, if only i could look around with the other stick. It's a little tough to hold the controller and use the mouse to look around.

Logitech 3d pro, like many others, its not that expensive and perfect for PR flying

Logitech extreme 3d pro is excellent.
And to that, my X-52 throttle.

What is it? Is it the "worn springs of doom" ? So it constantly veers to one side a little? And the centre jiggles around a bit like Michael J Fox is using it? If so, it's terminal, get a new one; although extending the "deadzone" in the middle (using the logitech panel or various games' calibration options) can increase it's lifespan slightly.

If it's something else, can prolly save it.

i can get the joystick to zero in on vBF2 (yes i still play it some but another mod- sandbox-) but when i get on Project reality, it veers off to the side. i don't really mind that as i can just take it out, stick it back in and it'll auto zero in. the thing that makes me mad is that the fire buttons (main cannon, secondary weapon, and switch weapons) are failing that's why i have been putting a couple controls on my mouse.

Run the logitech profiler, pick a profile (BF2.exe in this case, as that's what PR uses) and click the axis it's veering off on. Go to "axis properties" from the context-menu that pops up, and increase the "dead" zone a little, that eliminates the problems caused by the springs that pull the stick back to centre getting worn out.

Hmmm, that's a "buy a new one" type problem if you are not technically apt. If you have some technical skills, you can open the stick up and take a look at the microswitches, possibly swap them around, put in some new ones, or else open the microswitches and clean the contacts on them. Not sure how viable that is, haven't had to do that to my logitechs yet, but it could save you some cash that you'd have to spend anyway if the buttons can't get fixed.
