Oh boy, take all of the skill out of sniping.

At 600 yards the standard 147 gr. NATO ball has a 7.5 ft. of drop when fired with a 200 yard zero. Meaning if you aim for his head, you'll strike about 2 - 3 ft. in front of the target.

This game would be awesome if they could rework the ballistics to be realistic. They can leave out windage as that is less of an effect than distance estimation, plus the lack of mirage and foliage reaction to gauge windage dope... and a constantly changing wind value system.

Using the Remington 700 5R (M24) and a 175 gr. NATO M118LR round you are getting 38 ft. of drop at 1000 Yards with a 200 Yard zero. Give it a 5 MPH full value wind and you are off by 4.5 ft. ... provided it's not variable between muzzle and target.

Sniping should be hard... and it should take training and skill. This is Project Reality after all.

afaik its possible, there are issues with tracers, so you need to decide all rounds are tracers or notracers at all. anyway, try CA, ballistics is already implemented there

The point is they could be alot more accurate to real life even using the engine. The engine allows for drop for certain guns. You could modify the drop variable to be more realistic.

In real life you have to shroud long range targets with the sights. With shooting being such a large part of the game, and it's inherit realism factor, there should be a large emphasis on making it more realistic.

I know alot about ballistics ... and I'd be willing to take time to talk to a developer about it.
