They are moaning because they just got TKd because of a stupid weapon...

I have very rarely seen a grenade trap be set off by anything other than Insurgents...

Do you walk around looking at the floor to try and find an almost invisible line? If you do then you're an idiot, because while you staring at the floor trying not to be TKd then the enemy (You know, the guys you're supposed to be looking out for) kill you.

I kind of like the idea of being able to see the Nade traps similar to the vanilla Claymore mine thing.

But to be honest - I think Grenade Traps should eb removed all together, it's one step forwards in realism, but several hundred steps back into Vanilla.

You should be able to get one marker up - the rest won't appear anymore. It's a bug or something and maybe it will be fixed later on. I think you can place a new marker after you die once / a few times / after x time

I honestly think that it is a HUGE mistake to place mines or trap-mines too close to the cache. The reason for this is because as the fight intensifies around the cache, there is hysteria and chaos all around. People will not see them nor think about them when an enemy sq is closing in at 20 yards. You really don’t have the time to stop and look at the map.
Try placing them head of the cache where you think the enemy might be coming in at and where the enemy might possition themselfs for attack (ie: buildings, alleys, boxes, etc.)

So use common sense when placing these as they might hinder your team.

As far as the "idiot" remark goes, as long as you apologize and they forgive the tk, there really isn’t any reason to bring down one another with such slogans, just forgive and forget. Just remember that your one in a team, not a team of one.

Or do what I do, set one, wait and then set the 2nd on the body of your first victim. Stand back, wait for the call of "Medic" and go to town.

This is a good topic,
Grenade traps, well i love them haha.
Like Sgt Smeg said when you put them down on the ground mark them BUT you can only mark one on the map for some reason. :? ??: so any others that u place down u cannot mark on the map and then when u TK someone and they say "i punished u because it was'nt marked on the map" but i did press the mark mine button but it didnt show up on the map.
its all confusing! hehe
but still i love them, i mainly place them on roads where enemy is bound to go on and when a jeep or humve goes over it, the passangers in the jeep bleed out lol, happend to me plenty of times.
now beeing on the other side and going in a building and suddenly u blow up (trip grenade)
DAMN!!!!! but next time on that game u go in a building it will teach you to be more alert and it saves ur life because that trip grenade could of been enemy in that building sittin there waitin for you to come in and put loads of bullets in you, but next time u go in a building u will have ur eyes everywhere and u will see enemy b4 they see you and trip grenades.
i hope theyre in the next version :D
You always learn of your mistakes, trip grenades is a good one when you get hit by one.

Well i love traps they are pure fun! But they can be messy. For example on Tactics and teamwork it was 3vs3 on fallujah west. Me, welshboy and hexey had heavily Grenade traped, AT mined and IED (by IED about 6 normal ied and 10 arty ied, was very fun big boom :D ) around one of the caches thinking it would be destroyed or attacked by time anyone joined. in an hour server was full and i was left with a lovely 6 team kills. First i was feeling very sad and a bit of a bad player.

But then going over each team kill, i had warned everyone that the cache was Heavily mined so dont go near. But people were just ignoring the warnings, so at times you can't help the team kills as some players just dont listen.

I hardly ever see people warn about grenade traps, infact I very much dislike people in game if they start setting traps everywhere, especially around caches! Caches are spawn points and points where the Insurgents are definately going to be!

Also, sometimes people are busy, you know, fighting, to be worrying about checking where they go and to worry about people saying "Don't go near the Cache it's trapped" Or w.e.

PR Grenade Traps = Vanilla Claymores.

Except PR has FF on.

FYI, a cache is where insurgents spawn and pick up kits, NOT a mine field ;-)

The problem is people put them up near caches way too early. If you want to defend a cache you place the mines, IEDs, and grenade traps further out--where the opposition will approach.

I like to place IEDs in buildings that seem likely to be occupied. I once took out eleven guys who were using a building as a house for their RP and shooting out of the windows. It was hilarious.

Again, you should place these things on the approach. Not in the areas where your team is likely to be.

How can we expect our teammates to see the grenade trap if we expect our enemies to step on them?

Markers is not going to cut it in the heat of battle. Leave the grenades traps to anyone of the following situations; when you are followed, in the exits of coalition spawn points or paths of travel, in the roads near coalition main (but not so close to make people pissed) and in abandoned coalition vehicles.

It's pretty much a danged if you do, danged if you don't. You are going to have teammates tripping them even if you mark it on the map and telling everyone to watch for it. I figured if I kill 5 of my own to get 1 OPFOR, I did pretty good.
