Ok. Here is the results.

137 users have used and completed the download.

1 User said it was slow.

2 Users had issues. But after looking at there posts in different forums (Tech Support). I Can conclude this was not down to the "PR-Downloader". But underlining issues with there PC set in general (IE Windows it's self - .NET Framework).


So again. This has been a sucsess and I plan to leave this running until the next release.

Notes to self. Must try and add a "Speedometer"

This needs more coverage and usage as you have put a lot of work into this behind the scenes with regards to gameupdates.org etc.

Very fast until I got a Windows Firewall warning about 60% into pr.torrent. Then it slowed down to snail speed.

when i fix my computer and might need a reinstall ill be sure to try this out

That is what a firewall is meant to do. If you tell your firewall not to let something work. Then that is what it will do. I Do state that in the program when you run it. It says that port 6881 and or the program must not be blocked by a firewall. It Will work even if it is blocked by a firewall. But it will be very slow.

If you had not told your firewall to block it. It would have continued at the speed you was getting.

So this is only if you want to download EVERYTHING not just the ~20mb update?

You can use it to patch or do a full install. It does not matter. It will do both

Are you guys goin to release the DL on the PR site too? i dont turst DLers and i have my own torrent progam

It will be release here. Although this not a a full on DEV's package. They are working with me to make this the best that it can be. But also know this. This system is not here to replace the normal way of installing PR IE: CORE and Levels installers. It is here as an easy way for new players to get the mod. But as you say that you like to use your own torrent client (I love uTorrernt myself) I Can understand that you wish to keep using that. It's what you are used too. It is my understanding that there will be the normal DEV torrents up on release. And if you are happy to use that. Then by all means do so.

I Just made this to help out new players. Remember. It can be confusing to some computer users. Having to download and install 2 packages just to get a mod work. My system takes care of all that.

You have to remember the little pepole who are not so computer literate (like my spelling, thank the loads of Kobal for FireFox spell cheacker) They don't always understand how things work.

The wait is killing me. I check every 5 mins
