and yeah cheditor i know the cobra has a 25mm cannon and apache has 30mm thats why i said in my original post the cobra would be a little different, the ones in the video are for the apache i just put the sounds on the cobra for testing. but you get the picture.
A little different? Dude..
AH-1Z - 20 mm M197 Gatling gun (a rotating set of barrels in lamens terms)
AH-64D - 30mm M230 cannon
Cobras gun is a fast ripping sound where as the M230 is a slower dull crack
Dude you cant judge sounds by those videos. Think like this. The sound is happening on the outside and the camera cant pick up every single sound a human ear can, remember that.
[R-DEV]Masaq wrote:Yeah, it does. Audio gets compressed (badly compressed) via YouTube. We've never used any audio in PR that's come from YT because it sounds godawful ingame.
then how can you explain the current sounds theyre using now?
and also theyre using it for EVERY attack chopper, cobra, apache, i forgot the mec chopper... and i never play as chinese

THAT - is the fast "ripping" sound I'm talking about. Still slightly different though as that's a Blackhawk.. lol.. Probably a GAU-19 or something.
One thing I do have to say about the gun (and missile/rocket) sounds is that they are all far too quiet in PR - not when you're in the aircraft itself but when you're on the ground with one nearby. Same applies for tanks - IRL you get concussion if you stand near a thank when it's firing, in PR not even so much as suppression effect.

The Mi-28 uses the same exact gun as the BTR-90. They should sound the same.
And yeah, they need to find better sounds for the Apache and Cobra. While YouTube or LiveLeak might not have perfect sound quality at least they're based on the actual sounds and not just a completely made up sound.

It doesn't use an APC turret. It uses the same gun as is inside the APC turret.

Tbh that sounds is wrong. I bet you are using a video of a camera tape, which isn´t the right sound btw.
Imo the ones in 0.86, while maybe a little quiet are the best so far.
Here is something a little better, though youtube quality.
And, not as good.
And a worse one.

the first video the gunner sounds like he should be saying, i need to ****!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
and also how is that not the sounds? that wouldnt make sense? and wouldnt it be more realistic to have these quality sounds since your in the cockpit of the chopper? with all the other noises to go along with it? to me it would make more sense

If you are talking about the ones you reference, no, because that is recorded with the camera tape and doesn´t pick it up as well as you can hear in those vids.
Here are some of the best outside sounds more or less.
Edit, imo, I think Black shark has what must be pretty close for a 30mm inside the cockpit. Not that different from 0.86, just louder/bit deeper.

It already hurts sometimes when I have my headset turned up high to hear what other people are saying/ listen out for sneaky buggers and something explodes nearby. While it is true that irl you can damage your hearing or get a concussion from explosions, I don't think that we want that to happen to people playing PR

The M197 is a derivative of the M61; depending on the RPM they should have a similar sound.

All I'm saying is, in PR, people can stand next to a firing 120mm cannon, and just be fine and dandy and walk away. You should at least get suppression or something.
And wrt the volume level, it's just not bassy enough is all I'm saying, the ground shakes when one of those puppies fires. It just seems a bit.. "tame" in PR.. that's all

but when your playing PR and your in the gun cam/flir you should hear the same thing you hear on youtube videos of that quality too... i think it sounds cool tbh
