Since you only like reading the first line of my posts lol. I didn't say anything about having an actual wind, just offset the bullet to shoot off a different line of the scope, you know, the lines on the crosshair? all the windage adjustment is going to do is shift the vertical line over the corect scope line to adjust for a slight fake wind push once the bullet has been fired then compensate for bullet drop by putting another adjusment to the horizontal line. I've ran this idea by several people and they all agree that it would be the sweetest thing ever.
You guys post fast. ok here's my idea. To make the adjustment for the round to be shot in accordance with a fake wind, AFTER its been fired, why can't you simply make an adjustment, you know, make it so the bullet shoots off course unless the scope is set in the right direction. For example, looking at your scope...
The wind is not noticable, like I said... a mock wind already exists in game, you can tell that the wind is there cause the flags are blowing in the wind and the trees are waving side to side. Randomize the wind. Here's an example of a sniper scope set to elevation and wind. Notice how the lines have moved up and over a bit.
Obviously the line movement on a real sniper rifle isn't as noticable, but it is adjusted a tad just enough to compensate for a mock wind. Now, a spotter or even the sniper himself should be equipt with a laser binocular that tells them the distance, put something on the snipers screen that gives them a random setting for the wind. And thats it, all they have to do is adjust the scope for windage, a few clicks here and there moving the vertical line side to side and a few clicks adjusting the horizontal line for distance/elevation due to bullet drop. From what I've seen from you modders this should be a piece of cake. If you have any questions about my idea just say so. This would make sniping a blast if you could do something like this.
