Excellent work Twisted!
This mumble suffers from alot of the problems of the previous version ofc, but it certainly helps that people are using a standard version now!
Many thanks for your hard work!

I have the same problem it happens if I am in a server or not.
Any kind of settings change weather that be buttons or volume.

I have vista x64, I crashed the mumble client like that a couple times. Then what I did was the initial setup wizard, finish it, close mumble, reopen, add squad channel shortcut - click apply not ok (as it would crash on ok), click on another setup tab or two, then click ok, sorted!

build based on 1.1.x or 1.2.x ?
1.1.x branch, with some stuff imported from 1.1.2 (to do with ICE RPCs).
Regards the G15 LCD screen ... I don't know I am afraid, I dont have a G15 so I have no way of testing the functionality , thats why I removed it before. Its back in the compile switch, because of popular demand, but I have no idea if it works or what to do. My
guess would be you use the g15helper.exe in the mumble folder for something ....
Regards the weird crashing on changing settings ... strange one ... it happened with
some people on Vista 64 before as well. Changing one setting at a time worked for some people ....
But for others its fine .....
That is a puzzling one I must admit ... the only thing I can think of is that somehow its conflicting with a previously uninstalled ...or still present version of mumble. I tried installing several versions on XP to MAKE the bug happen, but I can't .... (I have two versions , vanilla and this one, working side by side perfectly .... even both running at the same time)

: is my only answer sorry

HI twisted,
On the G15 thing - if you try to run the helper exe on its own it says "this exe is meant to be run by the mumble client" (or something to that effect.
Typically programs like ventrillo etc. have an option to 'enable G15 support' which I would imagine run's their g15 helper apps. But in mumble no such option exists.
Thanks,
bkandor

I was on it last night with Space & I tried adding shortcuts and when I clicked Apply it kept crashing. But then I ran it as administrator and it worked, might solve a few of the crashing problems out there, I'm running Vista 64 btw

Good point, I am always logged in as admin, so I wouldn't have noticed that.

Regarding that Vista 64 crashing, had exactly the same problem with 0.4 and again now with 0.5.
In both versions, solved issue in this way:
- installed Mumble
- vent trough wizard, set PTT key there
- closed Mumble without entering to settings or anything else (I'm guessing that this is important to let Mumble save its initial settings after first launch)
After that, when I start Mumble again everything works fine, I can configure as many settings I want, OK, Apply, Cancel, all works fine, without crashing or any other problems.
Hope it will work for you all

Yep , I have looked through vanilla mumble as well and no such option exists ... so I assume its supposed to be automatic. Its a bit difficult for me to do anything about it I am afraid ... without a G15 keyboard I am a bit stuck to get a result.
And regards administrator mode, yes you should be running mumble as admin on vista.

I also have vista 64bit and crashes when trying to set shortcuts. I need a mute mic shortcut and squad leader PTT shortcut. Clicking ok or apply causes crash every time. Old mumble uninstalled PC restarted install new mumble.
Just to add my voice to the users with 64bit vista crashing issue.
*************** UPDATE***********************
seams to be a GUI issue I disabled Visual themes and desktop composition and ran in windows xp sp 2 compatability mode and it works short cuts have been created with out crashing. No just to test that once i have changed setting i can re-enable them above and get mumble looking nice again and the settings remain and dont crash.
************VISTA 64 BIT crash work round******************
Right click Mumble short cut.
Click propertise.
Click compatability tab at the top.
Select run this program in compatibility mode for windows XP (service pack 2).
Tick Disable visual themes.
Tick Disable desktop compostion.
Click apply.
Run Mumble create shortcuts in configure - settings - shortcuts. Then click apply.
Then close Mumble.
Right click desktop shortcut and select compatibility.
Uncheck/tick previous selections.
Click apply.
Run Mumble.
I Thank You.

Thanks for that information. It seems like it must be a problem with Qt and vista then if its to do with the interface. Strange, I will see if I can find any more info out about it.

Just tried the 1.5 beta
Not clear which server it should be on
NO SL shortcut there, local was though
stopped functioning
Uninstalled
Forgotten for the moment I have no patience to spend more than one hour trying to make this work.
Shame it must be great to play with it!

Check the bottom of page 3 if you have 64 bit vista.

Didn't know where else to ask this...
When I 'Toggle Deafen Self' it automatically mutes the mic.
But when I undeafen myself the mic stays muted.
Is this on purpose?

1. Check the server browser, select PR Official Server and click "copy to custom".
2. Guess that should stop newbies from using the non positional audio thing.

It's happened for all versions of mumble, just click 'unmute myself' or something like that, should be good

Orford thx no crash tonight using your settings although I think I am on Vista 32 anyway.
Other silly questions:
How do I know which team/side is mine?
I am playing with Mumble at UKWF; all players who have confirmed my signal -thx- are in the waiting room with no one on each team, are they just using the positional function and not bothering with SL channel?
Does the positional work whilst in waiting room and is it side locked automatically?
I popped into the RR servers and lots of battle related chats, I know to wait until in game to only hear people in the proximity correctly, whereas I hear everyone while not in game?
I use a portable to play and TS gave me enormous problems with an on board sound card but no such issues with Mumble!
Thanks for your help chaps I willl try ingame tomorrow.
