Win 7 is Direct X 10 mate.

This is doin my head in i could get bf2 workin wat so eva no matter wat i did so i installed windows 7 64bit and its the same story wont play goes to splash screen and than back to desktop why oh why cant i use it...........................................................................

Have you re-downlaoded the 1.41 patch?

It is definitely 1.41 and not 1.4 isnt it?

What GPU have you got?

do I need 1.41 just to run bf2 not pr coz I have not installed 1.41 yet because i have not installed pr im just trying to see if bf2 works first if i need to install 1.41 ill give it a go now.
further more i have dx 11 would that matter

Patch it all up ready, and run it in Compatability mode for Win xp SP 2 not 3... maybe this may help.

right i am just suggesting things now mite sound stupid but the language u install windows with does it matter ob its gotta be english but english or english us does this matter

done that and still the same thing splash screen and desktop in terms of drivers microsoft have installed all my drivers apart from gpu and do i need dx 10 coz i have 11 does this matter

you cant have 11 mate, its not even out?...

Have you downloaded your Drivers for you GPU yet?

wheni run dxdiag it comes up as dx 11 and yes i downloaded my gpu drivers from nvidia

can ppl plz run dxdiag and see wat directx they r running my computer says dx11 and robbie says that isnt avaliable yet if this is true this is y it wont run bf2 on my computer dnt no y it is installed but will ppl plz check for me thanks

Ok, this should not be the problem here then, as Microsoft stuck it in but it has full compatability with DX10 products.

this must be a .NET framework issue, have you installed .NET Framework 3.5 sp 1 did you say?

I dnt think so but this only relates to pr dosent it the netframe work thing i have not installed pr yet because i cant get bf2 itself working can some one check in programs in control panel if the publisher is there because mine dosent say anything

sorry bud but i have installed xp back now the publisher i was on about was wen u go into uninstall program it gives u information were the publisher is and mines dosent have anything i have added u on xfire bud so wat i am going to do is install windows 7 on a dual boot tommorow and if u wanna try and help me then it will be much appreciated
