Does it matter? As long as it's much quieter than 'bang' 'bang', it's a silencer.

There are no silencers in PR anyway.

That scope in the bottom left corner, is that what's currently on the Russian scoped AK?

The 1p29 -- a clone of the British SUIT is what the Russians are using.

The optic in the lower left of the poster is an American AN PVS-17, a night vision optic.

Yea, about that, why not?
The sniper, marksman, and maybe the officer should get one I think..
So whats stopping it??

Their general lack of use among conventional troops.

if the accesories dont do any thing then hwat the point...the nly real thing you can put on your gun that you can use in the BF2 engine is a scope

a red dot laser might work like ifyou make it shoot a really long tracer that does no damage..but it will look real weird

I'm sure there are far better ways than long tracers, no? I'd hope that much could be modeled ingame...

But out of curiosity, are non-special forces troops allowed to have laser attachments? I'm inclined to believe so simply from the freedom US troops esp. get with their sight/rail attachments, but I'm really not sure.

well i'm saying something like instead of having a grenadier kit or a rifleman kit, why not make it so that some riflemen can have a grenade launcher, some can have a silencer (for stealthy CQC or to allow for covering fire while your squad moves up... > > but limit it A LOT) and some people to choose between ironsights, dot-scope, Acog.

=) Also... i miss my rails T_T

(but i know why we had to rid ourselves of them..)

sure you might have a bit more dumbass maneuvers.. but you also get a lot more squad customization and tailoring.

please just forget silencers, they will not bring anything good.

1) really really unecessary given the scope of the battle

2) people will just go insane "ooohh look I have a silencer" runs off from squad to go do spc forces mishun

3) they don't work anyway, you shoot someone and the entire enemy team still knows where you are cuz the dude just write in VOIP and teamchat that you are there.

i.e. silencers are bollocks in this game.

No. No accessories. No silencers, no flashlights, nothing. Ironsights or scopes. That's it.

Smiley faces and Hello Kitty assault rifles are allowed. PR is serious business, after all.

Without suppressor: "There was fire coming from my 235 before I died, probably one of two guys by the sound of it"

Same engagement with suppressor "Ohshit I'm down. No I don't know where it came from, must be a sniper or something."

Though you are right about it being a moot point, the only soldiers who (in my almost nonexistent experience) would have business with suppressors are "snipers" and "special forces"

There are other ways of detecting direction, if you know the basic layout of the area within 15m or so, and the person who shot at you missed at least once, you can tell the general direction from the sound of the bullets hitting whatever it was passed you. Its not hugely accurate, but its not bad. And most of the time you do hear the sniper that killed you ingame, so if you don't hear anything, then its probably spec ops.

I would actually like to see the option of a silencer.....

One way to get the layout for customisation could be a second series of commorose

Press T >> Select Kit >> (New rose) Select next option I.E. LAT, then have the option. Optics, Scope, Silenced Optics, Silenced Scope. Therefore you'd still have customisation but not to a degree that it'd become annoyingly difficult.

For one, no regular soldier in any army, I believe, would carry a suppressor/silencer. Maybe. maybe special forces, and maybe snipers. Other than that, no regular "grunt" would have a silencer.

Out of all the accessories in that image only scopes and the UGL make sense for the game.
I've already said I'd like vert grips ingame or animations holding the rifles closer to/right above the magazine but thats just aesthetical preference.

And in that video chuc showed us of the lowered weapon stance they do exactly that in 3rd person at least, but I don't know if the first person animations are going to change any.
