Hm, I like using the Grenadier kit, I'm also pretty good at it. It just takes about 1 try and I can probably hit the target, if not, I usually deploy a smoke grenade, then work from there

The splash damage on the grenades isn't that great, and the arming distance is too far, I'm hoping they'll change it to 30 meters like it is IRL.
Other than that I got on a training server, found some flat land and measured it, I have the distances for all the notches written down, plus the compensations between standing prone and kneeling.
So ingame I'm going to be pretty deadly with it now. ^^

I'm pretty good with the grenadier but I don't use it because it's seldom useful. The kit has too few smoke grenades, and the HE are barely more powerful than regular frags. The ability to "throw" farther away than frags is nullified by the fact that you have to remain crouched and stationary for ages before you'll be able to hit anywhere near your target. That means chances are you'll be dead before you can actually fire...

i haven't used it much recently, because with graphics all the way down, I cannot see the explosion at a long distance (more than 200 meters) so i can never be sure if I am hitting.
its still a very useful kit, especially if the enemy is in cover.
nothing quite as a fun as seeing a gl firing a grenade into a room filled with enemies.

The Grenadier kit is probably my favourite infantry kit in PR. Although this kit has grate power, at the same time is also has a few disadvantages over other kits. Like some have already noted, in some CQB situations normal frag nades are far superior as you can toss them though a door way and kill any one inside, where with a UGL, all you have in thous situations is your rifle and then that only has a scope on it so you have to "fire from the hip" in thous situations, so really all round its pretty much a medium/long range weapon. But when you get into medium range, its very effective as its in perfect range of your GLs etc, and long range its just down to your rifle again.
But ye, most people dont like it as they can't work out how to range the GL and hate that it dont explode under 50m.

Well it looks like most of you have a wrong image of the kit. In most of the statements the grenadier is kinda alone.
This is a kit based almost to 100% on teamwork. If there is no teamwork going on the kit is almost useless you are right. However it there is enough teamwork this is a very deadly kit.
If there are targets in the GL distance then 1.) give the grenadier cover fire so he can stabilize and aim and 2.) have the squadleader use his damn attack marker on the target.
Besides the M4 and M16 with UGL just look hot!

I like it, but didnt use it often in .86 yet.
And like Mainerror said, you cant use the full potential without a proper squad.
Most of the times you use the gl youre out of cover and covering fire is really needed in this situations.
Btw, are there plans to add the M320?

In real life you'd be able to tap someone on the sholder and then point fairly accurately at what you see. You can't do that in a game, so the marker in the "3d world" is the best you're going to get. Making it map only would complicate the hell out of it.

Once you learn how the notches relate to range you can be pretty dam accurate with the first 1-2 shots, On Asad if I have GL I will always fire smoke at the opposing hill/flag as you can utterly blind people who are trying to defend positions on that map.

Wish I could agree with you there... The other day I was firing on insurgents in a building when a round fell short hitting the side of the target building. The splash killed the gunner in a passing humvee. My teammate and I were shocked. I love the kit as with proper ranging you can devastate entrenched groups or emplacements.

Hmm I never knew they were a super suppress weapon. I guess I'll have to try that out sometime

Yeah people tend to get moving when you start bombing the shit out of them from 150 meters away. XD

So you are using it kind of like a mortar. Not the same physics but the same role and effect. An infantry support weapon that can suppress targets downrange more than an mg can, right?

It is quite sad when you have a Grenadier shooting at you to be honest, because, some people are very good with it, and when you're happily walking around Muttrah without a care in the world and a 40mm grenade goes off next to you, you **** your pants, it's true.
Does anyone have any tips or strategies that they employ when using the grenadier kit?

Why is that? Is it just us or is a lot of people not seeing the real power of the G-kit?
I recognized the same...
Always when I try to request one, I get one!

Well I am happy with it

If there was accurate rangefinding, like maybe giving a "Distance Counter" for the regular army binoculars, the Grenadier would be a devistating kit. It's good for clearing houses, and it's also good if you use it like a short range "mortar" crew. Provide long range fire support, while getting the bulk of the enemies killed/wounded/running.

ye, the splash damage is really in terms of how you use it. Its good in some situations but in others its rubbish. When hitting a object beside a target its very effective, like your hummer thou hitting the ground around a player it aint that effective but still effective enough to make it worth doing if you can get it close enough

I wub the Grenadier kit - I always pick it if there isn't a need for some other kit(which there unfortunately often is) in the squad.
Just the other day I was on the hills overlooking the city on Jabal with my squad. We were engaging a hostile squad just over 300m away, so I pull out my GL and fire - boom 1 AR and 1 medic down.
Just love those moments.

Group 2 or 3 in a squad with an ammo crate and an officer to spot then you've got some real fun...
