MANPADS sights and USMC map with F/A-18?

the aussies use an F-18...perhaps this means something :O

I just thought about something. If you had the carrier pushed right to the corner of the map, are you then supposed to line up your jet with the carrier diagonally to make a landing? Its already quite difficult to land the planes currently.

What's a LOD? And I thought the biggest map you could have was 4x4 km?

And CAS, are those screenies from BF2142?

As for the screens, they're from Combined Arms, an addon/mod for Project Reality, and no, the biggest map possible with the BF2 engine is 8x8km, though only 4x4 (or was it 2x2?) can be land. After that, it's all untextured and bugged unless it's covered with water. If you wanted, though, you could have any sized map made with statics, though things could only spawn inthe 8x8 area... I think...

And LODs are Level of Details... so that you don't render objects a kilometer away from you at full quality, otherwise you'd kill your performance :p

Ah cool thanks :) .

Yeah I know about CA, I love it :D . But CAS had just said he thought 2142 was better, so I figured the screens might be from it. 2142 doesn't even have jets does it?
