Dude I still don't really know if you are being sarcastic in all your posts or if you really have such a cocky attitude but I'd like to remind you that you should not always spam threads with such useless comments.

You are the guy with one arm ? I remember you posting your history here.

Bye, but come back sometimes to drink some coffee or tea.

PS: So, there is a free tester spot now ? :D

I'll miss ya' Travis, though I have had a few disagreements with you over petty stuff on the forums, it's nothing. I believe the only time I've played with you was on the opposite team on Karbala when you were gunning us down in a Stryker, most notably from after hitting our SA-7 guy and accidently typing over allchat that the choppers had no more threats :p

Nah, I agree with what you're saying, and you're not the only one I've seen leave due to the same reasons, and it's sad to see such high-quality players and community members go.

I haven't given up myself yet, but that's 90% most likely because I can't afford to crossover to a better engine and run it smoothly (*cough* Arma *cough* :p )

Anyways, best of luck to you in the future, and

Certainly some shocking news to hear.

It's very unsettling to see how upset our most dedicated players become and must conclude their contributions in a mod; not because they have lost interest in it, but more along the lines that it's reached a point where they can no longer enjoy what it has to offer.

I can understand if a new player leaves PR after a week or so of gameplay because PR just isn't his kind of style. But to have a veteran player who's been around for countless builds and contributed more time and effort than most average individuals? Something's amiss.

Clearly Travis had thoughts and concerns in hopes to preserve the essence of PR in relation to his years of experience in the mod. Anyone who has been around PR since it's beginning days knows that first-hand recollection and experience in PR's past is completely priceless. This is something that only time can bestow upon you. Only then would you come to the realization on how valuable that kind of knowledge is.

As time goes on, PR has more and more newcomers joining servers. It's certainly nice to see more people playing PR, but in my eyes, not at the cost of our most loyal veterans. I'm hoping to see that more than a handful of people here acknowledge our loss today. Who could we look to in order to fill this young mans shoes? Truth is, there is no one. The population of PR's veteran players thin out year by year, they take the history and invaluable memories of Project Reality with them. The same veterans that gave Project Reality it's renowned teamwork and atmosphere that only few truly remember in it's early years.

I'm disappointed to see the shallow good-bye's he's been receiving from some of the users here in the thread. Let alone remarks about an immediate fill-in of an open tester position. That's shameful to see.

Furthermore, extending an invitation for Travis to return is not the solution to these sort of issues. We shouldn't have to lose dedicated players like him in hope that he returns. The point would be to acknowledge and reconcile his thoughts and concerns while he still actively participates in the development of Project Reality.

With all that said aside, I personally thank you for being a loyal veteran to Project Reality after all these years, from one veteran to another. I hope that someone will understand the loss we had to endure today.

I wish you well Travis, good luck and good fortune. Maybe I'll see you again some day.

Oh, bloody hell.

M.Warren said it... It is utter shame to see how our veterans are leaving due to the "dumb-down" of the mod due to newcomers. We all had to handle the heat, one way or another, and then comes the wave of "make-it-easy" changes just to play vanilla again.

But nevertheless, Travis, your contributions will be marked in history of this mod.

As mr. warren had said, something must be wrong... either the players have changed or the mod has changed. And as we all know.. players are hardcoded.... =/

Sure we lose veterans all the time, what game doesnt? But with all the new players we have constantly coming in, we have a constant influx of "soon to be veterans"

I think its silly to act like only those here from the beginning are "veterans"

Play a few releases and you're right up there with the rest. And from there, you only get more dedicated.

Everyone has to start sometime...

Okey I'm going to be honest now. This is one guy leaving because he isn't happy with what the devs are focusing on or how they want the mod to be played. This is not some kind of sign that the mod is going to hell, its just one guy making a dramatic exit. And people need to understand that this mod is at version 0.86 atm, its not done yet and the devs are still experimenting with a lot of stuff and some things work some don't.

You have to understand that they have reasons for doing stuff like head shots not being instant death that for example were a test to see if they could make the player aim for the body instead of the head. You have to make some unrealistic things to make the players play in a realistic way. Like the slow reload times for rifles, that forces the player to take cover when reloading instead of doing it on the move in a fire fight.

And for you guys that are saying that this guy served as a great asset to the test team or what ever, have you actually seen how much he have been testing? Or how much time he spent trying to help the devs out improving the game? No offence Travis.

Question: Do any of the posters here actually know what Travis contributed to the mod? Other than having been around for a while. Warren you make it sound like someone has died but really all that has happened is that a gamer has got bored of a game that he used to play and has moved on to playing newer shinier games.

Imo this thread should be locked.

Where you've got this from i've no idea. If anything the mod has gotten harder and more difficult to play with each general release.

Sounds more like a rant thread than a goodbye to me...

He didn't like the direction PR was going so he left...big deal. Some of you are blowing this way out of proportion.

Anyways, good luck with whatever you are planning on doing in the future. I guess some of us will miss you?

People leave games all the time. Doesn't mean anything is seriously wrong, just means peoples tastes change over time. Obviously Travis's taste in game is leading him elsewhere, so there is no need to make a mountain out of a molehill. I don't know if that warrants a thread, but meh. This is more off topic than anywhere else to be honest.
