I believe that when it comes to useing enemy tanks and/or airrcraft it should depend on that persons rank in BF2. This is because a tanker or pilot that has high rank has been around for a while. So therefore he or she knows what they are doing in enemy vehicles

shaggy, it would make the game uneven, meaning that a team FULL of higher ranking guys would distroy and base camp or have a upper hand on the lower ranking guys. though it is a good thought but in game it would have some real balancing issues but you can make a server with privates only and stuff that would be cool though ^^ means no noobs for high ranks

Language barriers are a problem needed to be taken into consideration. Can a US/UK soldier read enough chinease to operate a Type 85? I doubt it. Granted they may be able to figure out how to drive it, but to do so involves starting the tank. And as someone said earlier, chances are it would be protected by some sort of code at the least. Point is, the most you should be able to operate when it comes to enemy vehicles is a jeep or truck. Gameplay? Its a realism mod, they have said they want the most realistic feel they can. I doubt it's going to feel real if there are American soldiers driving Chinease tanks. IMO all enemy vehicles more complex than pushing a pedal and turning a wheel should be locked.

yea lets get back on topic i agree with ugly lets move on ^^ are we gonna be able to pick up a mec pack or what? its kinda hard in one hand i say no and the other it would be cool, but "cool" isnt realistic, sure a soldeir can pick another gun up but will a marnine do it no.. its realistic to not pick up the enemys gun, its just not thinkable.

We have to wait and see, hopefully BF2 will support(not necasarily have, but support) picking up individual ammo and weapons. Much like you see in Unreal Tournament or Americas Army. So in theory you could have a load out of an M16, swap it for an AK. Loot a side arm and some binoculars off of an enemy officer. Pick up some spare mags from a fallen comrad. And then when your shot someone could pick and choose what to take from you. All optomisom aside, yes and no. yes you should be able to take weapons, but only with reduce accuracy and no reloads from friendly vehicles(or soldiers, dont forget we can give eachother ammo and get points from it, if you have an enemy kit they shouldn't be able to resuply you). Unlike the current BF system you should not recieve any part of their uniform, only their weapons.

ALL Fighting Soldiers (Infantry Tanks etc), are trained in weapons that are used by their enemy in that Theatre of Operations - not just Spec Ops.

Vehicles etc is a different issue
