Literally thousands of files are being changed for this release, new maps, new weapons, new features, two new community factions will be included, etc, etc. I don't see any reason for anyone to be dissappointed. Plus, keep in mind what [R-DEV]AncientMan said:

sounds awesome, of course the larger number of updates will be sweet, however it will mean alot more work for the devs i imagine.

Great to hear that 0.9 will be ready by the end of the year. I thought that German Forces would be in though considering its almost finished. I know there's 2 other factions being added, but the German players are a large part of the community, so I'm sure they'll be very disappointed.
