The RPG7 was nerfed more than other LAT systems in .86. The blast radius of the RPG7 was reduced to 25% of it's original size, while the conventional forces LAT systems stayed the same. And they all got the increased settle time. So, while using the RPG against infantry is almost pointless, using the AT4 or other systems still works great.McLuv wrote:Not since 0.86. That's true, you're right. I was still thinking RPG-7badmojo420 wrote:The RPG7 was nerfed more than other LAT systems in .86. You never know when you need it (so you take it..), and when you do need it it's usually gone. I find this is the case for most kits. Real troops dont have to worry about this kind of thing, they are always properly equipped.

well, I don't know what would happen if RL troops were taking the kind of casualites or fought teh same enemies as bluefor teams do ingame. (200 deaths in the space of 3hrs, a conventional and heavily armed MEC etc)Riflewizard wrote:You never know when you need it (so you take it..), and when you do need it it's usually gone. Well, they come with all equipment needed and save it for when it is needed, the problem with PR is some guy halfway across the map takes a needed kit, and everyone else is hung to dry when they get overrun by armor. The troops are just too spread out to use the weapons as needed

Only when I know that we have enemy armour around that we need to deal with do I ask a SM to take a LAT/HAT. For the rest I prefer to see everybody with just spawnable kits. Even veterans get narrow vision when they get special kits.

For some reason people who aren't in a proper infantry squad feel entitled to all the damn AT and marksman kits, leaving none for the people who could actually use them. If you are infantry in a non-infantry squad take a goddamn rifleman or switch squads, don't be selfish.

true i hate this this unless like the other day i was on kashan looking over the Bunkers our SL spotted a MBT so someone in our squad asked if he could take the HAT kit there was already a squad with a HAT situated on the other side of the map!,he tok the HAT and destroyed the tank no survivers. we then took out 5 more armoured MBTs and APCs it all depends on the situation of course we were in a prime position and needed to take out the MBT(main battle tank before anyone asks). although i still don't think poeple should just take HAT and Sniper kits unless they are in a good area like we wereJedimushroom wrote:For some reason people who aren't in a proper infantry squad feel entitled to all the damn AT and marksman kits, leaving none for the people who could actually use them. Tbh the best thing here is "Sh*t tank!!!! Lets call in friendly tank/IFV/air support!"Roborob wrote:because its better than "Sh*t tank!!!! **** we already lost the HAT 2 mins ago!"
I agree with Rudds post really, AA, HAT and such should be left to dedicated squads like McLuvs support one as there are frequently people trying to do that who also will be better set up to do it.

Re: Take Kits when needed or 'in Case'?
Agree 100%. I like it when my squad is diverse and well-equipped to handle a variety of different possible enemy contact. But, from the original post, Rifleman Specialist shouldn't be forgotten. The included grapple hook adds such a great dynamic on certain maps and the trip flares are a godsend when defending a small area.
Typical kit load-out:
Officer
Medic
Automatic Rifleman
Rifleman/Rifleman AT
Rifleman/Grenadier
Rifleman Specialist
I typically encourage someone to be a standard rifleman as the ammo pack proves to be very important for 2 common occasions: 1. reloading Medic's epipens and 2. reloading the LAT.
Grabbing kits for the sake of grabbing kits is annoying and often proves detrimental to the team during the course of the round.

Re: Take Kits when needed or 'in Case'?
In Kashan Desert I always grab a HAT kit as the first thing I do. Even if the SL didn't ask me to (if he ask me to take a specific kit I take that of course). You will ALWAYS run into a tank in Kashan and you are sure to get raped if you don't have a HAT-kit. So.. It depends on the map but in my opinion you can never go wrong if you have a HAT-kit with you in the sq. It can really save your *** in many situations. It's a nice quick way to get rid of armor threats in a tight situation.... Like in Muttrah. How many haven't tried to get raped by an APC in the streets. As an inf. sq you're almost sure to run into an APC and the LAT kit just damages the APC only to send the APC back to base for repairs and come back. Why not just get rid of the threat right away.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading

If you are patient with the LAT kit, it can kill an APC easily, or at least immobilize it.
