i like this idea. Can the project leader give sum more insight please. Do u want the cars to transform? Or will they jst stay as the vehicles? Or will sum1 make transformer playerskins (which wud b badass :D )

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

So basically the plan atm is enlarging the soldier models and make a huge kit geometry.

Then to transform you press E which fires a vehicle and you get in instantly, E again and you're out and you're a robot again.

I would suggest, perhaps, creating a few 'no-name' or less obvious transformers, so that you can get a bit of variety in the teams, as well as allowing more people to play in the game at once (especially if you make the map somewhat large, you want action to be more frequent, so more players can fix that). Not a need for 32 player teams, of course... but 10 a team would be pretty action-packed, I think.

If you can make a kit selection screen that either allows for more choices in spawning 'kits' or have a 'random' kit that spawns you as a random bot for the team outside of the main autobots/decepticons, it would give some variety to the teams.

Reducing fall damage a lot is a good idea too; as a decepticon, I want to be able to dive as a jet and then transform before landing, to make a nice entrance.




Also, there's a list of who's who in the Transformer movies wiki-pages, so you can see what they used for transformations.

Ah I see.

Well of course you guys can't get to THAT level of detail :razz: I mean it's crazy. But well. If this takes off I'm looking forward to the models made for this. :)

That's our problem at the moment, we need modellers!! If you're interested, this is a hell of an experience.

Nah, we got the map, exports, and bits of coding tbh.

Anyway, whoever suggested a couple of unknown transformers, yes that would be great, however we have to make 8 high detailed models now already + vehicles, so if we feel it's time to expand as such, we probably will.

Well... I once modelled a not-so bad looking CFA-44 Nosferatu with a sh*tty japanese modelling program but I've learned enough to know that modelling ain't my stuff :razz:

Plus... modelling Transformers sounds like something a very experienced modeller should do. ;)

That'd be me.

Like I said, I would think that 10 on 10 fights would be pretty heavily action packed as it is even on large maps like 4km, especially if the transformers will have the destructive weapons we all know and love (I would love to guide a hellfire from my fist into another robot's head, wouldn't you), which would make the battles a bit more 'long range' able, as well as making nice big explosions and such will make it obvious to other bots in the area that a fight is going on.



Some of the 'less known' transformers would be nice to see, specifically some of the ones on the wiki page I posted (top of this page, 4 links), since you can get a reference as to how they would look... Real Kudos if you could come up with original transformer ideas that fit in, not an easy task!
