It was foolish to place a small squad in the middle of a mecanised force, the army has changed thogh and hopefully nothink like that will happen again.

I dont suppose anyone has seen an online documentary of any SAS missions? If its illegal PM it me *Hides from moderators*.

"Chris Ryan, reached Syria after eight days" - Kind of amazing rerly, he must have been dazed, obsessed and dissorientated *Place'es a Black Russian in Saudi Arabia incase things go wrong*

Ask Gaz about his regiment's *** getting saved (Barras)

Pebble Island is well documented, as is the Embassy Seige.

Most are not documented unless committed in public sight or reported by 3rd parties. Any elite unit should work on the maxim 'Only on the news when something went wrong'

Can I ask you about Gaz' regiment getting saved instead? He's not on :(

Its a well reported story.

Essentially, some guys from the RIR were captured by the West Side Boys in SL and were rescued by a joint PARA/SAS infil mission, 1 SAS trooper died.

Just google OP BARRAS to find out more

The bloke who died is from my town; Brad Tinnion, Harrogate North Yorkshire. Was hit in the leg by an AK round that rebounded of the wall.

Is it? I only knew it from a GPMG report (They were faster and just as effective at destroying the aircraft as the small charges that they placed in the cockpit's). Those Argentines outnumberd the SAS & Observer's by a large margin.

Well I was always told it was well documented :S!

I can rake up some details but essentially it was a smash raid. The patrol inserted about 3 days prior to engagement by Sea King and crossed mountains and Sea to the objective, they destroyed the same part of each aircraft so no salvaging for parts could be done. In the insuing fire fight, the SAS took out the Argie officers quickly and neutralised the threat before it really began.

It was 2 rounds, both rebounds, one gave a flesh wound, the other hit an artery.

Ah, right. It's been a while since I read the book.

Much respects to him and his family.

1) Midgets with guns...The smallest super weapons in the world (umpa lumpas maybe?)
2)Godzilla mode
--------------------------------------------
Honestly now...
1)Beta drums
2)unlockable side arms
3)Spotter class
4)Classic weapon unlocks-Weapons that take more skill. (like for sniper perhaps a springfield m1903. Or a more modern m14, designated marksman )
rifle.)
I have more thoughts in my head, but they are foggy.

This is a reality mod, unlockable weapons are not realistic.

I think we have hijacked this thread ;)

Well yes Dylan, a variety of weapons via an unlock system is something we are looking at

You mean the alternative class system (Sounds military 'ACS'... i like it).

The suggestion was braught up by Beta here http://realitymod.com/forum/t3748-class-suggestion-lengthy.html

It would amplify gameplay in a way other mods have not looked into.

Thats good. I can see how it would be considered "unrealistic", but if the engine has the capabilites, then why not shoot for it. But yeah, I think that so far in this game the unlocks have been made to modern, and have been shooting for giving ppl an unfair advantage over one another. While the way i see it, if youve mastered a weapon, then why would you give a person an easier rifle to weild. Give them an older harder rifle to master right? Thats the way i see it.

Or just play a reality mod and get a realistic kit?....

Anyway one of the patches stoped the manipulation of the unlock system.
