...but wait, why are you listing md5's from 1.41? I'm talking about BF2 1.5. You have the RendDX9.dll md5sum there. 1.5's md5sum is

I'm starting to think this may have nothing to do with hardware at all. At first it did, but several people can alt-tab with a P45/X48 motherboard, and others cannot. It's the same for the graphics card, the drivers, and the rest. If it is hardware related, it must be a specific combination of hardware that does or does not do the trick.

Try setting your anti-aliasing and aniso to application controlled and see what happens.
Update: After loading a map, even if you disconnect from the server you were on and go back to the main menu, the game will still crash if you alt-tab.

You
might be able to get it to work by installing the latest drivers for your videocard. If that doesn't work, try manually setting the anti-aliasing and anisotropic in the nvidia control panel.

READ THIS PLOX!
I had to disable AA so I could Alt + Tab, I then closed PR down, loaded it back up, and re-enabled AA (8x).
I can still Alt + Tab perfectly, and there's no jaggys!
