one thing i wanted is fast crouch and fast prone movement
when crouching and prone you go sloooooooooooooooooooow
IRL you can easly crawl fast (would take a lot of stamina) and crouch too (would take half stamina of fast prone)
of course, not very fast, but not very slow as it is.. on that high grass on steel thunder or i take 2 days to cross the path from one flag to another, or i go running standing and get easily shot

A little slow down and we all must act a little more tactical.

On first page I said "gamespeed is Ok for me".
I thought the DEVs mean the overall speed of things going on like "time to get into the action", "movement speed", "death times", and so on. This is OK for me. I don't get bored and it is not Quake 3
To be more precisely, what has to be changed:
- going prone has to be fast (like it is) but the time to get your weapon to a precise shot after going prone has to be extended (1-2 seconds maybe).
It would be nice to make this dependend on the waepon you carry (the bigger/heavier the longer). Support and sniper should only be effective in prone position.
- strafing is to fast because avatar has no inertia!
what is ok for me:
- speed/accuracy wihlst sight are up and walking
- speed standing to crouch
- running speed
- "overall" speed of game-mechanics. Difficult to explain but the "feeling" how fast things are going on is not to slow and not to quake 3 for me

People, you forget, the next opportunity for this to come into action would be the same time as the prone fix could come into action, 0.4. There's no point saying 'well until the prone fix is here', because the only way a little fix like this would occur would be in the next full update, and a patch isn't going to be released just to slow down the infantry. I for one would like a speed increase for the Sniper and Spec Ops classes and a decrease in the speed for Support. I think Spec Ops should also have more stamina and the Support class should have much less, but that's my opinion.

as i have stated before, i am not a fan of the current game speed. i honestly think that if 'inertia' was somehow implemented, the current speed of the game may not even have to be altered. by if my vote counts... inertia + little slowdown of run and jog + big slow down of straffing. as well, an overhaul of the speed it takes to go from prone to crouch to standing.

A Slow prone system, stamina taken away from getting hit, and some more encumbrance burden for some classes should make things better.
But one thing that i think would help is to be able to sprint to the left or right without turning since infantry really don't have a good free look while sprinting or anything.
As for the speed of the sprint itself i think that it is fine as is since players are basicaly jogging everyplace and not walking.

I think its fine the way it is....
However the getting hit thing and loosing stamina sounds cool. Release v1.0 first though!

Will look into inertia but not sure if its possible to add. Thanks for all the replies guys.

The prone is slow enough already. However, you should not be able to fire from your weapon or look through the ironsights while prone and moving.

does it matter?

I think the problem isn't in max speed, but in acceleration speed when changing from still to moving, changing direction or changing stance. That's what's making players hard to hit when they're all happy all around and is beeing over abused. Smoothing these acceleration speeds will make the game look and feel more pleasant and more realistic. Those abrupt transitions are hard on the eye, games other than BF2 have a smooth player acceleration. The max speed is just fine, please don't reduce it or the game will loose in both gameplay and realism. Also, stamina could be increased because in real life I can run much longer than that. That's why I voted 'completely changed', although the max speed itself is fine.
I mean, if someone is still listening...

player walk and run speed is just fine... its the prone and instant aiming speed that need to be adjusted i thinks. going prone and recovering should take atleast 3-4 times as loing as it takes right now....
have u ever tried to sprint then jump on ur stomach, then try to aim ur 22? it takes alot longer to just recover ytour bearings let alone have instant prone accuracy.

Devs...don`t forget that by the vote, the gameplay is fine (except the prone thing)
It seems to me, that nearly everyone who stated Soldier speed was fine did not post (in opposite to the faction that likes it slowed down)
If it`s slowed down more, I`ll propably return to Vannilla...
It`s still a game for me, although realism is fun, it should not make gameplay boring.

Seems reasonable right now your a trained highly athletic soldier but you are carrying a 50 pound pack. Right now it seems at a speed that is realistic but not boring.
btw I'm refering only to walking/running speed here
I think prone should be quick but aim should be slow, getting up should be slow and croutching and uncroutching should be fast.

Why snipers? Snipers are very capable of shooting when they are standing and theyre already nerfed enough in this mod with their **** accuracy.
