haha, nice 5 dollar.
I would like to help but I don't think my voice is what the rest of you'd like. I got a mate in the Army who's a scouser, can ask him when he gets back if you want.

is there a chance that the US voices could be redone? some of them sound really...bland, to say the least.
Maybe in 1.1 I suppose?

Yep you got.
PLAYER_CONFIRM_SL_sorry_alt.ogg could also be replaced with it.
Trouble is you can't program context into the comm rose.......

Whoa... I'd be awesome at this...

lol.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO RECORD:
Please read my short guide I made for the Sir. Community - it should help you make a good, clean recording quickly and with little hassle.
http://wiki.sircommunity.com/index.php/ ... your_voice
Audacity can also convert and open .oog files. Perfick.

haha lol I am gald we can have some fun with this
In terms of swearing.. just don't make it too offensive. I have the mouth of a sewer worker, there's little or nothing you could say that would offend me. I'm known for stringing several different obscenities together in ways never heard before. But we do have some kids who play.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The sound files MUST have the same filename as the original BF2 sound files.
I've updated the original post to reflect this.
Personally I thought the SF voice overs were weak.
We will be re-doing other sounds as well later (some of them or all of them or adding new ones), but gotta get these done first.

are we copying the words in the existing sounds?
I don't think i've ever used a radio except for official Batco style transmissions and blunt messages. certainly never call anyone "sir" over the radio!!!
i've got to the point where i can say the messages with my recording equipment and then realised how dumb the transmissions sound for british army!

Want a Brummy accent? I would sound so out of place.

To be honest, I'd love a clear and varied distinction between all three roles... there are so many great accents in Britain that it should be possible.

Cockney for grunt, Scottish for Squad Leader and standard issue English for the Commander. They've gotta be the three best.

c'mon. you gotta have a brummy in there somewhere... i live in brum, i ent got an accent but i can do a bloody good one...
i'd have a go if you want?
i can do most accents, if you want any doing just say. i've gotta 'high ish' voice though, so commander wouldn't really be the best for me
but i think making the engineer scottish is a fine idea
and also, i thought the SF brit voice overs were... well... "insulting" to say the least

i just listened to mav's. i love the "BOLLOCKS! BAIL OUT!" genius
