Edit: G3 is epic at long range, even if u hit ur enemy once, he will bleed to death if there's no medic nearby, this is "balanced" by its huge recoil, + the G3 looks badass!
The G3 ironsights is the best CQB weapon of any conventional faction. Go on, deny it, I double dare you. It drops people in two shots at most and is point accurate almost all the time, it owns and anyone who disagrees is using it badly.

Are you actually playing PR or are you just a forum noob? you know the pistol is a part of the equipment the soldiers are using to surevive and fight close combats. Today do most of the soldiers in the Norwegian army have a pistol as back up, and its well used to clare buildings etc, since the AG-3 we are using can be a bit havy and long in close combat. If we are gonna remove all the weapons what are we supposed to kill with then? drive tank all the time or?

The pistols are used as primary weapons in different situations and are one of the best tools a man can have. But ofc. you probably dosen't use side arm in New Zealand, but in Norway we do and probably the rest of the world also.
And one more thing, the snipers should get a LMG, like an MP5 or some thing, so they can deffend them self while walking between different locations.

@XxX_HangMan_XxX: Who are you to point fingers at others? Just because you apparently live in a part of a country where everybody talks polite, shouldn't mean you have the right to criticize others, just by their use of words/expressions.
and for the record, I DO think the pistol is to weak, and believe the G3 is by far under-dimensioned

There is damage drop off with the pistol to 200m and after 200m it does nothing, use your main rifle.
If you are a sniper and have to use your pistol then you are in the wrong place.

If pistols get taken out, how will I lead my men as an Officer? Or fulfil my
Sergeant Major Plumley fantasies?
Anyway, I think both weapons function perfectly well really, it just takes a bit of practice, I used to hate the G3, but now it's my second favourite weapon after the L85

I used the pistol in whole 0.75 and untill the new pistol animations arrived when I discovered that they had lowered the damage. I don't tink I need to practise, if over one year with using the pistol are enough practise so do I don't know what practise are.

Hmm.. I remember the boat trip on Baracuda 16 ( Community Event ) You did that pose quite well once we hit the land
wouldnt have been as memorable without the pistol.

I was talking more about the G3 to be honest. I suppose, as the pistol is a backup weapon, it would make sense for it to be quicker to deploy...

I love pistols. They don't make the game spammy or not fun, at the end of the day, pistol vs any other rifle, pistol should lose.

IMO G3 needs to be toned down... I'm tired of dying from 1 G3 bullet from 500m away.

Being forced to shoot someone with a pistol means you either suck completely with the main gun, which is your fault, or you ran out of ammo, which is also your fault. Turning up the damage with the pistol isn't going to help anyone except those that can only use the pistol, and FYI, according to NIJ ratings, a few 9mm slugs from the pistol wont have a chance in hell of breaking through the plates in US, British, and possibly MEC body armor too unless they're actually hypersonic, flaming rounds fired by Satan himself from hell at you. And I'm pretty sure that wont happen in a game.
The pistol is pretty much a gun just to prevent solo building firebases by an officer (and to look cool leading men).

I think that a lot of people don't seem to realize a certain thing:
The G3 is a Battle Rifle, not an Assault Rifle; they were designed for much longer range fights, and therefore are much larger rifles, which aren't very easy to control on fully automatic fire, making for a cumbersome weapon when it comes to CQB.
They prevail heavily on long range firefights, whereas the US Army uses the M4, a short barrelled rifle designed for CQB. The USMC uses the M16, which is closer in size to the G3, which in turn allows it to be a bit more effective at longer ranges; however, it is not nearly as powerful or accurate at these longer ranges, where the G3 still prevails.
Firefights tended to be 300m or less in the modern day battlefield; the M16/M4 families are built around this thought. The G3 was built on the thought of long range and accurate fire, before it was determined that firefights tended to be much closer in than they originally believed.
For this reason, the G3 has a rightful advantage on long range fights. Take advantage of your particular weapon's advantages; as the USMC, bring them close! as the USA, bring them closer!

You've got that backwards. The Marine Corps primary weapon is the M16A4, with NCO's (Starting with Sergeant's and going up from there
) and Officer's getting M4's. Whereas the Army is mainly using M4's now, with support units and a few scattered units outside of support using the M16A4.
