The Type 81 is a derivative but not a complete copy and yes, its a great weapon.

I was speaking of the Type-69 not the Type-81 Assault Rifle

I also want insurgents. When i bought BF2 I was dissapointed at the new skins they had instead the ones they showed us in the trailers.

But yeah, RPGs and IEDs would be cool.

And a little offtopic:
Is it possible to have a 3D backround in BF2, like HL2 has. So that it would be possible to make a tight urban map with buildings everywhere as far as you can see, but they won`t take up memory so much as most of the buildings are just part of the backround. Would be cool to fight insurgents in such a map.

Sry for bad english if you dont understand me

Makes some Insurgents look like those old pictures of what bf2 was gonna look like and RPG's are a must!

So alot of people here would like to play as the insurgants?

I think its more along the lines of "I hate fighting an equally powerfull armed force" - I want a challenge, not some 'shoot-em-up' powerfull vs weak BS.

I think that the general idea is that instead of two equal armies slugging it out time and time again it would be interesting to see a few maps which changed it up a bit.

The Insurgents would be armed with an assortment of 'obsolete' weapons and light weight vehicles while the enemy would have heavy armour and be a good deal slower. In a stand up conflict the insurgent forces would obviously lose quite fast due to a lack of true armoured vehicles but in hit and runs and such they could be a real threat to a slow armoured force. It would be a real task to even integrate them into a map because said maps would almost always need to be designed around their operational plan. A map like Sharqi would be perfect but Zatar would be horrible as the US's larger engagement range would maul the Insurgents forces.

it be all fun and games till people work out how inaccurate weapons will be (replicating untrained militia) then dying 5 times for every kill they get.

i honestly dont know about playing untrained insurgents, maybe playing as MEC Special forces, that use older weapons or get a totally different load outs from standard forces. but i hope this game dont become terrorist/counter terrorist senario's..

hey, some people complain about the mec using the eryx as their main at weapon.
why not equit them with the kornet system?

it seems pretty advanced and can be quite a danger for modern tanks

The MEC team should be split into an "insurgent" (aka, freedom firghter) forces and the a modern MEC army. The story is "after a lengthy war with insurgent forces, the Middle Eastern forces banded together (I study Middle Eastern history, this is completly impossible but this is a game, whatever) to create the MEC to once and for all fight off the western states. I think this would satisfy people who want the MEC to be carrying around RPG's and AK-47s, have roadside bombs, and sucide vests, and those who want to have a modern army. The insurgant forces could have crappy weapons but faster spawn times and 10x tickets. I don't know, just thought I'd throw this idea out there.
yay we now get to jihad people!
i think they should also be able to run faster, because they aint carrying body armour and stuff

I like the idea of insurgents, but when if the insurgent are going to be made they got to have some hardware like tanks and such otherwise its not going to be fair :P

it will be on maps with ambushes from tall buildings so i dont think the insurgents need armour, but u could have the BMP-3
otherwise, 2 guys armed with RPGs with PG-7VR warheads, a tank doesnt stand a chance
